It is the year 3000. Many of mankind’s problems are solved - cancer cured, religion debunked, nuclear warheads converted to low-income housing, global warming reversed by seeding the ionosphere with frozen peas, which also eliminates world hunger - and humanity basks in absolute freedom. The average lifespan is three hundred years, and children are born fully grown with a college education.
Advances in mathematics and computation lead to the solving of the Schr..dinger equation for all systems, especially those of chemical complexity. This great leap in quantum physics opens doors into realms that man has never been able to touch. Now that scientists have conquered the three dimensions and thermodynamics, they take the inevitable step into kinetics and the fourth dimension: the fabric of time itself.
Enter Dr. Kilometers and his associate Grommet X - the famed duo responsible for cracking the Temporal Matrix and developing inter-chrono-travel. In their off hours they experiment with a thousand-year-old aqua-influenced reverbatory electromagnetic sound-form system once known as Instrumental Surf Music. The two scientists, together with their benefactor Skyles Angstrom, occasionally post their sound-form experiments on the InfiniNet to enlighten the Three Known Universes. They receive a maximum of 3 hits per day out of a potential 1.4 x 10 to the 27th power. Realizing that they need help if they are to learn how to better perform Surf Music, they turn to their latest invention, the Portable Universal Time Zapper (PUTZ). At the suggestion of Grommet X, they travel to the Golden Age of Surf Music: 1963, somewhere in a district of the Northern Hemisphere once known as Huntington Beach.
Upon arrival, they stumble onto Skeeter’s Geetar Box, a renowned sound-form instrumentation supply repository. Inside they encounter surf guitar guru Mycroft Eloi - who, unbeknownst to all, is a humanoid visitor from star system Sigma Horus Meta Ultra Chaos Kegger (SHMUCK). They witness Eloi double pick with demonic fury on an inca silver Fender Jaguar, and instantly they know they have found their mentor. Grasping that it is his destiny to bring Surf Music to a future generation, Eloi accepts the time travelers’ invitation and joins them in the PUTZ. However, once the PUTZ is initiated, Eloi - who, as a SHMUCK, cannot suppress an avid curiousity - starts to push buttons at random. He quickly destabilizes the PUTZ and it deposits the quartet in the year 2006 before disintegrating in a ball of fire. Now trapped forever in the 21’st century, the foursome decide to make the best of it.
Thus, THE TOMORROWMEN are formed. Their mission: to bring aqua-influenced reverbatory electromagnetic sound-forms to those of you who live in the San Francisco Bay Area, especially if you are a SHMUCK.
