About Me

I'm the wife of a handsome and (obviously) highly intelligent guy, mother of two fabulous and successful grown sons, mother-in-law to the most beautiful and talented Miss Neeser-head, and "Glamü" to our (now) 2 grandsons - our sweet, funny, smart little 2 1/2-year-old, William, and his baby brother, our brand-spankin'-fresh, little ... ALEXANDER JAMES! (Though, in my mind, I'm still gonna be calling him "Liam Evan Wallace"... 'cause that's how I roll ... ;O)
* Awwwww, Alexander's new nickname is ... ya ready for this? ... "TOOTER McGEE"!!! I guess you can prob'ly figure out why; the poor little guy ... his mom NEEDS to be LAYIN' OFF THE BEANS!!! HAHAHHAAAA! (jk jenese ;O)
SPEAKING of "how I roll", my love of people AND music is all ROLLed into one huge fantasmagoria of fun each week when I become your "Karaoke Hostess With the Mostess" - singin' and slingin' your favorite tunes every Wednesday and Saturday nights at Connie Kay's Flightline Pub & Cafe - Fort Walton Beach's premier place to "sing and be sung"! (You need to be coming down to see us, if you aren't already, 'cause we're always havin' a good time!)My (re)current karaokehostessin'-based motto(s) are: "Don't be a stranger!", "Be here or be 'sqwere' "(???), and the ever-popular: "Come early and stay late!!!" (Always good advice and particularly recommended for those persons desiring the most bang for their karaoke buck each night! :O))
Welp, that's about it, I reckon... so DON'T YOU BE A STRANGER!

(BELOW) The aforementioned place-to-be for FOOD, FUN and FRIVOLITY ... click the little banner for mo' info!
And then here we have a tiny taste of a typical fabulous night o' karaoke with us ... COME ON OUT!
Now my friend, Craig, and I will "soothe your savage breast" with some of . . .
Nat and Natalie's: Unforgettable
♫ ♫ ♫ Yo! You know I'm just talkin' 'bout my . . . k-k-k-karaoke ♫ ♫ ♫

My Interests

In addition to a completely healthy obsession with family, friends and karaoke ... I suppose "some" might say that I am also really quite "into" myspace, now, as well!

OK... OK... I LOVE IT.
(is that so wrong? ;O)

And such persons (IF they exist) might also say - and I'm paraphrasing here:

"Well, I think maybe you've become just a little toooo "into" myspace! I mean, MY GOD, you're, like, ON there night and DAY ... I can't BELIEVE how MUCH you're on ... Don't you EVER DO anything ELSE??? ... DO you NEVER sleep??? ... OR EAT??? ... I'd LOVE to have YOUR life ... It SURE must be NICE to have all that FREE time ... Do YOU DO anything at ALL??? ... I want YOUR schedule ... you WILL GIVE me your firstborn ... HEY, I really LOVE your HAIR! ... "

and so on . . . and so on . . . ad nauseam . . . ad infinitum . . . ;O)

MAAAAAAAN!! What is WRONG with everyone??? Can't a girl work on her page in PEACE without it becoming of such great National concern?

So to counter this obvious personal affrontage - at least against all but that one incongruous, yet rather lovely "hair" remark - what should I say? I'm leaning towards something succinct, along the lines of, oh, I don't know... "bite me", perhaps? I honestly don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, though, so I'll probably just try and say it with this really sweet and sincere smile on my face and all. :O)

HAHHAAAAA!!!

Believe it or not {Ripley's would definitely be interested here} I do actually HAVE a "life" in addition to myspace - and I'm not even talking about our kids, or karaoke or any of my usual "hot topics" right now... *gasp*

To learn a bit more of my interests, let's begin here with:

SPRINGTIME IN FLAHHH!!! Ahhhhhh... who doesn't look forward each year to when the weather finally turns nice and one can actually enjoy getting back outside... just lounging deckside enjoying a few cocktails with friends then capping it off with a refreshing dip in the pool. Or what about a lovely picnic and then a long, leisurely stroll on the BEACH to end your perfect day ... it's a virtual PARADISE down here all right ... right up to and UNTIL the abject hordes of gull-sized mosquitoes and teeming black clouds of blood-sucking dog flies set in and suddenly! Ackkkk! You're hauled struggling into that long, last sunset OR sent flailing and screaming back to the supposed sanctuary of "inside" ... using every means available to you in a feeble, frenzied attempt to keep THEM from coming in after you ...

* You know, funny story, but I had WONDERED when we moved down here why, the very first billboard we saw upon crossing the State Line, was a gargantuan advertisement for "RAID® BUG KILLER"...

... and then I found out! ;O)

Despite this though, I'm still in love with:

my backyard birding pasttime, which I've been an avid fan of for YEARS - with a smidgen of some front yard gardening thrown in for fun. Though at times, I MUST admit, I like to just "go a little crazy" and mix it all up some - while fully armed with an industrial-size can of OFF®, of course ... HAAAA!

Now to know me is to know that:

I ♥ VINTAGE! So you'll often find me out trolling the local Thrift Shops for one of my fabulous "finds". But a typical "mall-rat"? Ut, nuh? I quite frankly DESPISE mall shopping in all but the most extreme emergency situations ie: Christmas & birthdays.

I DO, like, and I mean REALLY like me, some online shopping, though. A LOT. You can't BEAT free 2-day shipping! So...

Can we all say:
A-M-A-Z-O-N P-R-I-M-E ??

And NOW can we all say:

So, after all is said and done, I suppose my only remaining true hobby, per se, would have to be:

SCRAMBLE™ over @ Facebook. It's this FUN, fast-paced online word game, played against other ACTUAL people, and very much like Boggle - and while I may not be a "Peggy Hill"... well, I ain't too shabby, neither.

Come on over and play with me sometime, why not??

Ohhhhh, and one other thing I almost forgot!

I was quite recently the vocal half of a short-lived duo almost named SAX & THE SINGLE GIRL (yup, I came up with that one - kinda catchy, huh? ;O) . . . . that was, until, the WIFE of the sax player deemed the name "just too suggestive" and it was dropped like a broiling hot potato ... the name, the BAND, AND ALL!!

Ohh my gosh?? What. A. Freaking. Moron!

Anyhoo. Silver lining....

If anyone out there is currently in the market for a versatile girl singer - well, I'm available, mate!

MySpace me ♥ .. ;O)

I'd like to meet:

YOU - for a beer! And if you'd no objection, I'd probably let Joni tag along with us - and then we could swing on by for Alanis, too, while we're at it - plus ol' Jim Morrison, if he "really" isn't dead and all. ("... I'm not quite dead ...") Or if we can HAVE dead ones, then Nostradamus would be a good pick for sure... I have this couple o' little niggling questions he could probably just no-problem clear right up for me over a beer or three! ;O)

And where ARE you, anyway??? If you're SOMEWHERE, could you please post "where" here on my cute little map? (and put your photo? My pic looks sooo lonely)

..

Now, there I am, (pretend) right down there; see me?? Just enjoying life to the hilt in sun-drenched, fun-drenched fabulous-in-fuschia NW FLORIDA!... come on in, the water's fine ... absolutely fiiiine ...

OMAGOD!!

WAIT! WAS THAT A SHARRRRRRK?

Whew ... nope, nothing more than a harmless, little ... flying stingray.

UNH? LOOK OUUUUT!!!

.

OK, THEN ... HERE GOES:

♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫ ~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫ ~♫

(BELOW) Patsy Cline's ALWAYS - along with my "sincerest" apologies... neither the best lighting NOR the optimal sound quality... plus NO ONE would freaking stop talking!

Where in the heck do these people think they are anyway - a BAR or something??? HAHAHAAAHAA!!!

♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫ ~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫ ~♫

(BELOW) My "Halloween" Marilyn's - DIAMONDS ARE A GIRL'S BEST FRIEND - errrr, not only SHOT SIDEWAYS (oopsie), but, uhhhh, I am quite possibly more or less "3 sheets to the wind" by this particular point in the evening (but who's counting, right? ;O)

♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫ ~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫~♫ ~♫

(BELOW) ... and at last (drum roll), just for YOU, and Lani and Dana; my *ahem* '(in?)famous' karaoke cover of Alanis Morissette's UNINVITED - as well as proof that I DO, upon occaision, actually wear JEANS - though, the camera did a rather "funhouse-mirror" effect on me, which is FINE if you desire a shorter, chunkier look - which I, most assuredly, DO NOT (HAHAHAAA), but apart from that it's fine, perfectly fine...

Shot on location @ THE FLIGHTLINE PUB & CAFE, FWB FL; 3/22/08

"So, anyhoo... all y'all need to be gettin' your bad selves over here to SING with us!!! WE MISS YOU, in the first place, and in the second place, just look how much FUN you're missing by not being here! COME ON DOWN!!!", AMY implores - with a dainty, yet, unbridled vehemence. "PLUS, we've got our FABULOUSLY FAIR AND FRIENDLY NEW 'ROTATION RULES'", she wheedles sweetly. ;O)

Music:

For the record, (oooo, sorry) I seriously like most every school of musical expression - from blues to bluegrass, folk to funk, rock to reggae, pop to punk, and shag to - ah yesssss ... my fabulous SHOWTUUUNES! Heeheeeee. (FYI, tho. I ain't a huge fangirl o' country, but, shhhhh, don't you dare tell a living soul I just said that ;O)

Now, particular favorite artists that spring to mind are (my top 3):

♫ JONI MITCHELL

♫ ALANIS MORISSETTE

♫ THE DOORS

And then, just a VERY small sampling of all the rest; in no given order:

♫ CAT STEVENS

PLUS a myriad of assorted and sundry other selections all of which are made readily available and accessible to ALL through that little marvel, the (possible) "8th Wonder of the Modern World" ...

... oh yes, you GUESSED it ...

KARAOKE! ;O)

. . . "If my poetry is aimed at achieving anything, it is to deliver people from the limited ways in which they see and feel." ~ Jim Morrison

. . . "If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear as it is - infinite." ~ William Blake

. . . "The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side." ~ Hunter S. Thompson

. . . "Being told to 'CHEER UP' when you're depressed is ... well ... DEPRESSING!" ~ A. Harvey

OH, HEY! In case you missed DAVID COOK'S awesome IDOL performance this week ... well, DO NOT despair, mates! Here he is, in all his fabulous glory, singing hell outa MUSIC OF THE NIGHT from "PHANTOM" - prepare yourself to be WOW-INATED!!! ...

Movies:

This is my "all-time 'favorite movies' section" section:
Monty Python & the Holy Grail ♥ Pee-wee's Big Adventure ♥ The Graduate ♥ Sling Blade ♥ One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest ♥ American Beauty ♥ Pulp Fiction ♥ Grey Gardens ♥ Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus ♥ Harold and Maude ♥ Don't Look Now ♥ Hot Fuzz ♥ Napoleon Dynamite ♥ Little Miss Sunshine ♥ An Officer and a Gentleman ♥ Gone With the Wind ♥ The Wizard of Oz ♥ "Mary Martin's" Peter Pan ♥ Miracle in the Rain ♥ Oklahoma! ♥ The Sound of Music ♥ Mary Poppins ♥ South Pacific ♥ Life is Beautiful ♥ An Officer & a Gentleman ♥ The World According to Garp ♥ Jaws

28 Days Later ♥ 28 Weeks Later ♥ Let's Scare Jessica to Death ♥ Night of the Living Dead (the original) ♥ Dawn of the Dead (the original AND the new one) ♥ SHAUN of the Dead (a laff riot! :O) ♥ plus most any other little ol' thing of a "zombie" ilk!
And here's my recently added "Newly Added/Recommended Selection" section: (which thus far consists of all of 2 whole movies... man, I REALLY do need to get out more ;O)
♥ BLADES OF GLORY - totally "mind bottling"! Hahaaa ... yeah, watch this one.
♥ DISTURBIA - whoa, that David Morse is one creepy dude, man ... and it was REEL good! (buh-dump-bum)

And NOW, for your pleasure - the section you have all been waiting for, the pièce de résistance and one of my personal favorites (drum roll, please):
. . . well, a girl can DREAM, can't she?? ... that is IF she could even SLEEP! MY neighbor was freaking outside BUZZ-SAWING at a ridiculous 9 AM on a SUNDAY morning of all things! Courtesy of THAT rudeness, I got a grand total of 5 hours of sleep - it was nothing less than sheer insanity, I tell you!!! (... uh... "Bitter, party-of-one... your table is now ready.")
So ... where IS a good zombie when you need one, anyway? They only ever seem to be around when you don't ;O)
HAHAHAHAA!

Television:

♥ DEXTER ♥ MEDIUM ♥ PSYCH ♥ HOUSE ♥ HOUSE HUNTERS ♥ FLIP THAT HOUSE ♥ REAL HOUSEWIVES ♥ (hmmm, I just noticed that it's apparently pretty much anything with the word "house" in it ;O) PROPERTY LADDER ♥ JEOPARDY! ♥ AMERICAN IDOL ♥ SIX FEET UNDER ♥ CARNIVAL ♥ SEX AND THE CITY ♥ LAW AND ORDER SVU ♥ GREY'S ANATOMY ♥ MIAMI/LA INK ♥ INTERVENTION ♥ ANTM ♥ PROJECT RUNWAY ♥ MAKE ME A SUPERMODEL ♥ (hahahaha, ri-i-ight) MILLIONAIRE MATCHMAKER . . .

. . . man, I never even realized I watched so much TV till I started listing it all! So much for my previous, somewhat condescending, "Oh, I really don't watch that much TV..." HA!! :D

Books:

♥ RICHARD MATHESON: I started with I Am Legend - a great read, by the way - and am working my way through all of his stuff from there... and thank goodness he was such a prolific writer, 'cause when I finally find someone I like, I want it to last awhile, ya know? (But, Lord please don't even bother with the FILM I Am Legend... it blows SO hard; though the original 1964 version with VINCENT PRICE called The Last Man on Earth is, believe it or not, actually pretty good.)
I just finished The Shrinking Man - another oldie-but-goodie by Matheson which TOO was made into a movie - the 60's cult classic, The Incredible Shrinking Man. Look for it on AMC or TCM or out in your local video stores - it's the PERFECT fare for a winter's night, with a blanket and a big ol' bowla hot buttered popcorn to snuggle up to... teehee! :O) I am now set to embark upon the proverbial quest for my next great selection, but ??? I'll just have to let you in on THAT little "history-altering" decision when I finally make it ;O)
I also usually enjoy...
♥ STEPHEN KING: (though mostly his earlier, scarier stuff)
Always...
♥ JOHN D. MACDONALD: His highly-recommended-to-you-by-me TRAVIS MCGEE series, in particular. Just start at the beginning with The Deep Blue Good-by and then work your way through the remaining 20 novels - until finally reaching completion with The Lonely Silver Rain; you simply won't regret it!
Every single thing by...
♥ RAY BRADBURY
♥ J.D. SALINGER
♥ KURT VONNEGUT
♥ SYLVIA PLATH
And...
♥ DOUGLAS ADAMS: OMG, have you read THE HITCHHIKERS GUIDE "TRILOGY" - they are the absolute funniest books you will EVER READ, I promise! I was laughing like a complete madman the entire time AND I was out in PUBLIC!!! HAHAHAAAA! (That can be a bit awkward, but remember, "DON'T PANIC" ;O)
And then there are my...
♥ COOKBOOKS: Yep, lots and LOTS of cookbooks! Seriously, I think I have close to 300
by now -
. . . YIKES . . . I'm a veritable Martha Frikkin' Stewart! (and obviously just COULDN'T be more pleased about it ;O)

Heroes:

... don't watch it (surprisingly), but I think maybe the guy that can go back and forth in time.
THE FABULOUS SLIDESHOW (ABOVE) IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE FINE FOLKS AT: THE FIFTH GALAXY ORCHESTRA -
Give 'em some BIG LOVE, mates; they are literally "OUT OF THIS WORLD"!!
You can visit them @ http://www.myspace.com/vgalaxyorchestra . . .
. . . &nbspSO GO!!! ♥

SELECT START ROCKS!!! ♥
(BELOW) OK, so, psssst! You knowww.... ya really needa be checkin' this kickass band I caught on Idol the other night: THE CLARK FREAKING BROTHERS! [ok, I added that "freaking" part :] OMG... dig their craaaaazy dobro and man-doh-lin!! THEY ARE SMOKIN', BRO!!! (You should definitely do yourself a solid and give 'em a quick listen... I mean, you ARE already here and all... eh?)

And ummm, just one last little thing please? How's about you being a complete dollface by helping me to bring "Idol Cast Off" (sorry, Josiah) JOSIAH LEMING AND "that fun, fab band" (sorry, Powerglove ;O) POWERGLOVE - to town??? They're AWESOME... they're TALENTED... and I bet you dollars to donuts (unh?) they'd put us on a couple of really excellent shows!
So . . . just click above AND below . . .
it's quick, painless, and just about as easy as a big ol' slice of lemon icebox pie . . .

. . . wait for it . . .

HAHAHAAAA. . . YUM! :O)

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
YAY!!! Good for you, mate! If you've suffered through and made it ALL this way down my page, then YOU, my friend, get a VERY SPECIAL TREAT for your efforts! Be forewarned, it's not a happy tale, this, nor for the faint-of-heart (and surely scared HECK outa me) ... but nonetheless, it's such a FABULOUS Soviet-animated adaptation of (one of my aforementioned "favorite authors") RAY BRADBURY'S post-apocalyptic short story, THERE WILL COME SOFT RAINS, that I just HAD to share it! So - IF you are so inclined - please, just lay on back and enjoy the show ...
PS I suggest some of my "darker" Doors tracks played along for further background-al enhancement, if you wish, eg. Spanish Caravan, The End ... (I just personlly found it kinda cool) however, it's absolutely NOT required for enjoyment...
OK. ON YOUR WAY, NOW .... GO!!

. . . YIKES!!! I know, I know - NOT my usual light-hearted fare, was it? But wasn't it also just the goose-bumpily, thought-provokingly BEST ...
. . . I sincerely hope you liked it . . . LOVE, AMY :O)
