About Me

Welcome to my personal Myspace page a place to put up some of my live tunes, working musical projects, musical experiments and to network with other musicians. My name is Phil Agrue my friends call me El Pescador Phil or The Kokanee Killer. Obviously I like to fish.
I currently play keys in the band Whiskey Hill. My musical life began early with violin and clarinet lessons.Around 1965 or 1966 while at West Linn's Bolton Middle School I played in my very first rock band King Kybo with some fellow school friends. We were really good at driving our parents crazy making loud "musical noise." In high school I began playing my Hammond Organ in various bands a couple included Richard DeCius of Whiskey Hill. I went off to OSU and at one point played coffee shops and lounges around Corvallis 1/2 of the duet "Willie & The White Boy" (I was the white boy).
Over the years I have played in several Portland based Rock, R & B and Blues bands including Phoenix, Crazy Otto, Concrete, The Rose City Rockers and The Woofers. There were a couple of others but if I can't remember their names I doubt any of you would either.
Besides playing keyboards in Whiskey Hill , I have a real job. I have been a private investigator/death penalty mitigation specialist for almost 25 years. I am an avid fisherman (Hence El Pescador) and hunter. My wonderful wife of almost 26 years G.G. and I have two great sons (both guitar players/musicians and one is now a licensed private investigator like his old man). We enjoy spending time at Lake Billy Chinook (LBC), exploring the ghost towns of the lower desert in our old Jeep CJ-5 and of course fishing and trying to live life.
Playing in Whiskey Hill has been some of the most fun I've had in years. I'm playing with two of my brother in laws Gary and Don and with my good friends Richard, Greg and Jim all top quality musicans that I went to high school and played in bands with some 35 to 40 years ago.
The music on this page is some of my own tunes recorded live or musical experiments and a couple of rough works in progress. The jams are are prototypes of ideas for real songs that are in the works. They are something I played around with my Yamaha Motif and a laptop with Cubase to lay down some ideas
