BIOYou only live once, right? Well, that’s exactly how comedian, Brooke Jena Lewis views life. A poster child for making what’s impossible for most of us, a down right reality. Seemingly effortless, she has become a commanding and relatable comedic presence in an exceptionally short period of time. In the year she has resided in Los Angeles, CA she has performed with Mo Collins (Mad TV, 40 Year Old Virgin), Andy Dick (Employee of the Month), Chris Reid (House Party), John Diresta (Miss Congeniality, How to Lose A Guy In 10 Days, Hammered), Rick Martinez, Joey Diaz, Jeff Garcia and countless others. Through her year residency in L.A. she has managed to perform in clubs and tour with fellow comedians that her peers still dream of accomplishing. It’s Lewis’ multifaceted talents and natural comedic capacity that landed her in the Jam Entertainment’s Stars of Comedy tour, guest spots and hosting duties at the Laughs Unlimited in Sacramento, CA, the Haha Cafe in North Hollywood, CA and numerous other comedy houses throughout L.A. all while hosting and producing her very own production company, “Jest-the-Best.†Even funny girl Mo Collins is impressed, "Brooke Lewis is a go-getter, funny gal, and a pleasure to do comedy with.†Hailing from her hometown of Stockton, CA her first encounter with the performing arts started at the ripe age of 18, when she fell into her first acting class, Children’s Theatre at San Joaquin Delta College. After falling in love with performing she switched her major from Psychology and entered the Actors Training Program. She left San Joaquin Delta College with two Associates degrees, and continued to pursue her education through California State University Sacramento where she graduated four years later with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Still eager to perform, she appeared in and directed numerous plays for Smiler’s Comedy Playhouse as well as teach theater in an after school program, and pack on and extra 50 pounds. Eager to explore new opportunities and develop a career in stand up comedy and acting, she quit her teaching job, pushed herself to drop the extra weight to head to L.A., the “anorexic capitol of the World†to pursue her innate talent. Through straight determination, Lewis has not only grown as a person and comic, but has learned that it takes a strong and unwavering person to make it through the torturous world of “Hollywoodâ€. Lewis’ comedic style effortlessly manages to skim the surfaces of the everyday mundane to the deep end of social structure, while blatantly crushing feminine stigmas. Whether it’s discovering new way’s to lose weight a-la-Nicole Richie style, or the ridiculous depths of a woman’s sexual soul - she makes you love her from the beginning, then hate her for being the hottest breath of fresh air we have all been waiting for!
