About Me

Scott is a musical omnivore...
Strings For Industry is a primo Portland lineup featuring pioneering virtuoso violinist Darol Anger, bassist Tye North, drummer Carlton Jackson, electric guitarist Scott Law and founding member/special guest slide-guitar & banjo-whiz Tony Furtado (schedule permitting). This all-star group performs original songs from across the genre spectrum, using everything from clear and articulate tones to hell-raising distortion to deliver great music - a footstomping good time band with a mean streak of R&B and Rock.
Honkytonk Homeslice is a trio project with Scott, Billy & Jilian Nershi. The band is acoustic at heart with wooden guitars, mandolin, dobro and soaring three-part vocal harmonies. Lately, there has been successful experimentation with the "Electric Homeslice" sound by introducing electric instruments, bass & drums. "Homeslice" sets are intentional journeys on which the Trio convenes bent on finding their way into the center of the group mind and the "ringer" harmonies of voices and instruments blending in service of the song . HTHS just released their first studio album , which showcases their pure trio sound.
Piano Throwers are the core rhythm section of Strings For Industry and specialize in Rock & Americana music. The band is Tye North on bass (Leftover Salmon), Pacific Northwest legend Carlton Jackson on drums and Scott Law on electric guitar. They perform with a loose and spontaneous groove, quite willing to explore while bringing to life original tunes and killer readings of classic covers.

OK well, just reflecting on the recording process here. Working on a solo acoustic album... I'm engineering it myself which makes me a bit schizophonic. Never done it like this before. I'm emphasizing...
