FESTIVAAALLLL!!!!!

About Me

In the mountains of Colorado, where the air is clean and city noise is nonexistent, you will find an environment in stark contrast with life on the road as a musician. Vince Herman, who has spent 15 years as founder/front man for Leftover Salmon (LoS), has been counteracting countless long nights on tour by taking advantage of the luxuries of living in Colorado. In the tiny and very quiet mountain town of Nederland, Vince has developed his next major invention. He is working on a totally new solo record that will feature several amazing cameos, and has signed with Mountain High Music to begin another national tour in support of the new album. To recall, it was here in Colorado, in the early 90s, that Vince Herman combined the talents of banjoist Mark Vann, mandolinist/guitarist Drew Emmit, bassist Tye North and drummer Michael Wooten to form the polyethnic slamgrass band now known as LoS. These road-dogs scoured the country juggling over 150 shows a year, for years, and satisfying the peoples need for the perfect festivarian act. They ultimately changed the history of bluegrass culture and its loyal fans forever. Vince Herman has participated in nearly every major festival this nation has offered over the past 15 years. He has performed at High Sierra Music Festival eight times, Telluride Bluegrass Festival eight times, All Good festival three times as well as a long list of others such as Bonnaroo, Wakarusa, Austin City Limits Festival, Jazz Aspen, Beale Street Music Festival and the H.O.R.D.E tour. Throughout his elaborate and impressive tour history, special guests such as Tim O'Brian, Jim Page, Paul Barrare, Sam Bush, Rob Wasserman and Bill Payne top the list of Vince’s’ favorite on-stage friends.Today, the recent hiatus of Leftover Salmon has opened the door for Vince Herman to revisit the road and provide aid to his fans’ addiction to good ole' Cajun Americana pickin. In 2005, Vince Herman tested the waters of his solo performance by combining that Cajun Americana sound with a hysterical mix of improvised lyrics and unique originals. This combination proved to be a success when Vince Herman performed at the House of Blues, Chicago, in January of 2005. With Hot Buttered Rum String Band on the bill as well, Vince did what came naturally to him: he delivered an unforgettable performance filled with witty humor, smooth guitar licks, and amazing improvised lyrics. Vince Herman has since showcased his solo creation at the Mishawaka Amphitheatre in Colorado, The Independent in San Francisco, the Night Grass Music Festival, String Summit, Hookahville, the All-Good Music Festival and the Opera House in Telluride (to name a few). Additionally, in March of 2005, Vince joined Rob Wasserman, Jim Page and Theresa Andersson for the Spirit of Guthrie Tour and played 13 dates in support of the recently discovered notebooks of the extremely influential Woody Guthrie. He can also be seen around the country at select Shanti Groove and Great American Taxi shows.Fans from all over the country are beginning to talk of the much missed slamgrass that Vince Herman invented 15 years ago. And with the massive fan base built through LoS, he will prove that this fish is not even close to belly-up.
