About Me
May 6/07: Yesssssss! Braved the all-night camp-out for White Stripes tickets... I can't buh-lieve they are coming to our wee city and playing at the 400- seat Yukon Arts Centre. Holymoly.... Special thanks to Captain Michelle Rabeau for organizing us all - our steadfast ticketing team included fellow songwriters-and-pals- Kim Beggs, Jordy Walker, Kim Barlow, Anne Louise Genest... and we all have tickets for what is sure to be a fabulous show!!Apr 20/07: Just back from the Alaska Folk Festival where I was blown away by this year's guest artist the Carolina Chocolate Drops. Managed to flee the minus 40 weather (during the Canada Winter Games no less) the day after my gig at ATCO place. Met up with Kim Beggs (who was on a "horseshoe journey" through the US, and hung out in Nashville, Memphis, and then accompanied her vocally for her showcase at SXSW in Austin. It's been a fine year: Fall 2006- was spent in a documentary mentorship program co-sponsored by the Yukon Film Society and the National Film Board of Canada. my mini-oeuvre called "Still Life: A Portrait of the McLean Lake Neighbourhood" screened at the Beringia Centre (Whitehorse) as part of the Yukon Verite program, as well as at the Dawson City International Short Film Festival- once I gain some much-needed technical expertise, will also post it on YouTube.HOpe you enjoy my little aural vignettes.**************************************************
*************"Edelson's songs might be letters home, or postcards from a far-off place. They're certainly heartfelt and beautifully made; road-tested around kitchen tables and campfires, they speak strongly of love, friendship, place, and, especially, the heart" - Alexander Varty, Georgia Straight (Vancouver)

Influenced by traditional and contemporary folk/roots resonances, Natalie Edelson seamlessly meshes the human and physical extremes of the Yukon landscape. Oscillating from the mundane to the whimsical through all points in between, her songs poignantly distill the off-the-grid experiences shared by urban refugees. Richly textured melodies envelop stark imagery. The result particularly satisfies those with a craving for something bittersweet.Born in Ottawa and politicized in Montreal, Natalie Edelson made the Yukon her home in 1991. A musical journey that began with flute and piano has since gravitated towards acoustic and electric guitar. Her fluid and innovative fingerstyle guitarwork is reminiscent of rhythm and melody piano-hands. Performing solo or with accompaniment, Natalie Edelson creates and maintains a unique intimacy with her riveted audience.Natalie Edelson's debut self-released CD, Mayfly Days, is available for purchase at www.mymusic.com and at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/edelson

"Natalie Edelson's Mayfly Days is like solar power: it plays 'til the sun goes down (....) Edelson uses the word "incandescence" to describe the past in Into Deep Blue, the first song on her album Mayfly Days. I would go further and derive the word "incandescent" to describe the whole CD" -Bill Polonsky, What's Up Yukon

"Natalie Edelson tells smack-on intuitive stories with a caressing groove. They're where you know you've landed. Into Deep Blue is one to blast from the car stereo while cruising hometown back alleys with only your very best buds. - Brenda Barnes, Past Producer, Frostbite Music Festival****************************************************
************" Edelson takes listeners on an upbeat, poetic, political journey, with incredible, crystalline vocals and groovy instrumentation." -Genesee Keevil, Yukon News********************************************************
