About Me

The Now: From late 1995 up to Summer 2007, Marcus has produced (or co-produced) 9 albums personally, whilst recording and producing other acts as a living for an independent publishing company and record label. Amongst those that have recorded his songs are Joe Giltrap, Paul Flood, Dee Harrington, Celtic Spirit, Lyra, Siobhan McCarthy, Zoe Nicholas, Mia Silvas and Lyn Paul. Marcus is still working with ex Fish, ex Oldfield, ex Rutles and current Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band producer/performer Mickey Simmonds.*************************************************** ************************************************************ *************The Then: Since way before My Space was born, Marcus has been making tunes and other enemies. He came to the attention of Loughborough University in 1987, in the experimental (and ultimately flawed) super-group “Gonad”. Regarded as one of the single most important influences on Eric Willis (painter and decorator), “Gonad” were short-lived but long in the tooth. Soon after college, he formed the blues band “Cliff Rescue and the Helicopters” with fellow student Steve Duck, and two gas experts Gary Lomas and Ali Greenlaw – Guildford and Aldershot rang out to the scream of “Steve, Ali, Gary and Cliff” for a full 4 years of raw entertainment. A short lived attempt at progressive pub rock came with the band “Albino War Pod and the Children of the Clam Snake” noted for their acute timing and map reading. Their famous “one night only” career is still regarded today as a gig worth forgetting. Marcus once said “that crowd was right behind us....but I managed to shake them off at the tube station.” So came the illustrious solo years that have made him world famous in London Road, Wollaston.
