The Petty Bones

Somewhere in the South where the tall pines...PINE

About Me

Honored to chosen as the house band for the 2008 Season of THE ABITA SPRINGS OPRY!
"A seamless blend of covers and originals delivered with an unabashed enthusiasm and nutty fun..."

Your Cousin Dimitri- Dj at 90.7 FM -WWOZ- New Orleans, LA
The Petty Bones are an acoustically based group combining their multi-instrumental talents with emotionally charged songwriting and vocals. Drawing from an array of musical influences from the traditional folk sounds of Appalachian, country blues, rock & ragtime, The Petty Bones continue to deliver variety of rootsy original & cover tunes to an ever increasing group of loyal listeners from all ages and backgrounds.
Since their beginning as a duo, Jerry and Anne have shared roadhouse floors, stages, live radio and studio session time with many artists including Big Daddy O, The Benji Davis Project, Bonnie Bramlett, Chris Thomas King, Colin Linden & the legendary Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown.
During the spring of 2004, the two songwriter's officially named themselves The Petty Bones and released their debut Cd, PINE. The Cd has been featured on roots oriented radio shows in the US and Europe where it continues to reach new listeners. Recorded in Hattiesburg, Mississippi & Bogalusa, Louisiana, Pine was engineered and co-produced by Steve Stubblefield- Starlings, TN- Between Hell and Baton Rouge. In September 2004, California native, Harvey Jones, began working with Anne and Jerry and The Petty Bones became a trio combining their multi-instrumental talents on guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo and piano. In 2007, visual artist, Charles MacGowan, joined in on bass guitar.
The challenges brought about by the recent devastation of Hurricane Katrina has only strengthened their determination to continue to write, record and perform. Daily life in their post-apocalyptic paradise of Petty Bone County is all the more adventurous..
