Tamara Lewis

About Me

Singer/songwriter, Tamara Lewis, drops the filters that we live with every day and stands alone in her songs. She writes primarily in a contemporary folk style with country and blues influences. Her voice is comforting, crystalline, powerful and guileless. As a performer, Tamara is both engaging and incandescent and unquestionably leaves a mark on the audience from opening note to last.I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: tlewismusic.com
Band Members: Me and my guitar, Alice Boytz on fiddle and Gary Westcott on mandolin, lead guitar and harmony vocals. Heaven.

Influences: Alison Kraus, Patsy Cline, Nanci Griffith, Mindy Smith, Cheryl Wheeler, Pat Donohue, Linda Waterfall and my friend, roadie and number one fan, Marge. Also, conversations with friends, my job as a psychotherapist, love and loss, questions of faith, painful things that happen, whatever makes me laugh, and my 15 year unmet need for a good night's sleep.
Sounds Like: I've spying on your life."Tamara's huge heart with all it's creases and careworn marks, is there where anyone can see. But what really gets to me is her voice and the Patsy Cline mode that's mined with every note. Plaintive, but not forsaken, yearning, but never giving up." (Leah Kauffman; CD Baby)"As for me, I just sat there in silence after this CD was over. You can't just get up and do laundry. You just sit and savor it. Tamara Lewis is an artist to watch and whoever is watching her, get her back in the studio." (Jennifer Layton; Indie-music.com)Tamara is a sophisticated chantuese with a fine, pure, and supple voice. "Ain't No Better Match" is one of the best songs ever about unreciprocated feelings. The professionalism in this CD should propel her forward. She's got it." (Tom Peterson; Victory Review)
Record Label: Lilac Road Productions
Type of Label: Indie
