I grew up in show buisness. My father was a C&W star, which was the means of my 1st TV debut at 7 playing banjo. I spent time backround singing for Denny Doherty of the MaMa's & PaPa's. Of all things I was a Mitch Miller Sing A Long Singer. I have also done alot of behind the scenes work, engineering, recording, lighting, Management. I have played my own music all over the United States and in Canada, England,& Europe. I love writing and playing its part of me, like one of my new song titles, Country Roots. Im also signed with ASCAP as a writer & Silby Songwriter Publishing. Glad you made it by My Space, Lee
Here is a article I wrote over at Hittin The Web.
I find it interesting in reading the Forum Topic Finding God, that the question arises to spirituality and writing music. I personally find in my experience...growing up around writers my whole life is...that the two run totally togather. The best of the best writings always seem to be the ones that are sent to us. Well you know...wake up in the middle of the nite...stumbling over stuff...looking for that pen, pencil, crayon, anything to write it down with! It was and is a spiritual delivery!Heck ask any writer, I think they'll agree, it's sent to you. And you know, in yourself it's up to you to deliver. Look at all the napkins we have used to write some of the best songs out there on! Look at how fast, suddenly our hands can write at light speed! When the norm is very slow. There's always a reason the words need to be said. Maybe you will not agree with them, but for another, that same song could open a door to their spiritual life! And any door that helps a brother or sister to the spiritual life is a wonderful thing...So brothers & sisters these are my thoughts on this subject...I hope it will help the ones that question...Sincerely , Lee Silby
