About Me

Love, love , love my job. Took me more than 30 years to figure things out but this is IT!! Work all day and night or don't work at all...the only thing I'm tied to is deadlines. Travel all over the state or maybe just kick up the feet in my upstairs office.

And it's all comped. Back stage in elite restaurants or bear hugs with owners of divey delights. Eccentric artists, creative songwriters, young filmmakers, dreamy actors, king of the blues brothers...I tell the tale waiting to be told.
Clicking the camera...hanging at Jazz Fest, gliding down bayous, cruising backroads, island hopping or hugging a whale.

The best part...the interview and meeting all those beautiful people. They love to share their story.
Follow my travels at www.debswriting.com.
My work regularly appears in Southern Breeze magazine, St. Tammany News YADA YADA magazine, The Northshore Report, Covington Magazine, The Louisiana Road Trips magazine and Travel Post Monthly.

In addition to my published work, I have won eleven writing/photography awards in the last four years, serve as a photography judge for the Louisiana Outdoor Writer's Association Youth Journalism Contest.
And can't forget my buds, Pam and Gene. Pam is coming out with her third book, Moon in the Mango Tree, this spring. For more details, visit Pam's myspace page at myspace.com/pamelaewen.

Gene is a guitarist/songwriter racking up the gigs, listen to his music at myspace.com/genelipps.

Check out my verbal essay, aired on the Mississippi Public Radio, at www.mpbonline.org/radio/programs/commentaries-contribute/041 0/main.htm
I'm a member of the Nature Conservancy, the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana, the Faulkner Society and a board member of the Louisiana Outdoor Writers Association.
Heading out on the road in mid March with three trips scheduled through the end of April. Then a Jazz Fest photo and review gig early May.
