About Me

Born and raised in Sofia (Bulgaria), Phil took many voice and other instrumental lessons. While in Bulgaria, he was primarily trying to become a pop/rock singer. After completing his military duty in 1989, he immigrated to the U.S. where he joined his family, in St.Petersburg,Florida. He studied English as a Second language and after finishing the course, Philip applied and was accepted at "Berklee College of Music" (Boston, MA), where he extended his studies to include Commercial Arranging -(Contemporary Writing & Production) and Performance (Voice Principal). After his graduation in 1993, he moved to Los Angeles, where he further continued on studying music and completed the 1-year Film Scoring Certificate Program at UCLA- Extension. Philip has written original music for short student and low-budget films, as well as numerous arrangements for different sizes of bands and orchestras, in most contemporary styles. A ballad from Olivia's new "Christmas Wish" CD (2007). David Foster arranged the Strings (synth demo), which Phil later orchestrated/distributed for "live" string players, and then he arranged- additional Oboe, English Horn, Alto Flutes, Clarinets and French Horns and finally conducted them "live", at “Gari Communications"- Westlake Village; California. (2)"DON'T LET GO", is from Mark Masri's new upcoming CD-"See My Face"-(2008). Phil arranged and conducted the orchestral instruments (not the rhythm section), with the LA Film Orchestra. (3) “ALL GAVE SOME, SOME GAVE ALL” – (Original Composition- instrumental). Composed; Orchestrated; Conducted & Produced by Phil Manos. (Dedicated to our brave men and women in uniform, who defend our freedoms ..THANK YOU for your SERVICE!!)This is one of Phil’s original symphonic Pop/Rock ballads, which is still a “work in progress” , a TV track.
