About Me

Justin Gray Biography
Over the past 10 years, Songwriter and Producer Justin Gray has sold more than 20 million records world-wide.
After traveling the world to places such as Stockholm, London and Nashville, Justin has finally relocated his studio and career to Los Angeles.
Justin's extraordinary credits include British soul sensation Joss Stone (Virgin), Spice Girl Emma Bunton (Universal), Multi-Platinum UK artist Alex Parks (Polydor), Tyler James (Island Def Jam) as well as artists such as Sugar Jones (Universal), Ashley MacIsaac (Universal), JD Fortune of INXS (SonyBMG), The Three Graces (Decca/Universal), Sara Paxton (Walt Disney), Elodie Frege (Mercury), TiffanyEvans (Columbia), Jacksoul (SonyBMG), Wide Mouth Mason (Warner Bros.), Econoline Crush (EMI), Snow (EMI), Wave (Warner Music), and Esthero (Sony/550) just to name a few. As a remixer, Justin has worked with artists Shakira (Columbia), Leahy (EMI), and Kinnie Star (Universal).
His songs have appeared in countless television shows like Beverly Hills 90210, The Clubhouse, Degrassi “The Next Generation”, Popstars and Canadian Idol. His music has also been featured in films such as Soulplane, Bounce, and Jacob Two-Two meets the Hooded Fang. In 2001, he won a Genie Award (Canada’s equivalent to the Oscar) for his song “One Thing To Say” which won Best song. That same year, he was nominated for a Juno Award (Canada’s version of the Grammy’s) alongside Daniel Lanois for ‘Producer of the Year’ for his work on Sugar Jones’ single “Days Like That.” “Days Like That” was the fastest rising debut song by a debut artist in the history of Canadian radio. He has even composed music for Michelob, Budweiser and AT&T.
As a songwriter, Justin has worked with some of the industry’s most sought after creative minds in North America, and throughout the world including; Phil Thornalley (Natalie Imbruglia / Bryan Adams), Blair Mackichan (Lily Allen, Wil Young), Curtis Richardson (J.Lo / Rihanna), Jeremy Ruzumna (Macy Gray / Rod Stewart), and Andrew Fromm (Mark Anthony / Backstreet Boys). In 2000, Justin won the Canadian Radio Music Award for “Song of the Year.” 3Deep’s “Into You” was the most played song across Canada during the previous year, and became one of the fastest rising songs to receive the honor of “Canadian Radio Gold.”
Justin conceptualized and began the Creative Collective; a 5 day intense songwriting think-tank bringing songwriters and producers together from all over the world, in the spirit of the famous Brill Building. In it’s 5 years, songs born at the Creative Collective have sold millions of copies world-wide, and have found homes on projects all over the world with artists including Joss Stone, Rihanna, Lenou Mouskouri, Alex Parks, Elodie Frege, and Stradio.
Justin just completed producing and co-writing the upcoming album Meant to Be from New York rocker Beau Black. Justin has also begun signing and developing new artists. The first was Bret Ryan, a 20-year-old virtuoso piano player and songwriter that instantly signed with Capitol Records. Justin co-wrote and produced all 11 songs on the debut record which was mixed by Chris Lord Alge. Next up are Electro-Glam Rockers The KillerHeels out of Manchester UK, and Bossanova Soul artist Alex Cartaña from Spain/UK. Look for all these records soon.
