To all OUTMATCH fans,
It’s been a long six years since the four of us first got together and started making music. It’s been filled with ups and downs... such is life. We have become more than best friends... we are brothers. We have gone through so many shitty situations together, and have enjoyed some of the highest points of all of our lives together as well. But much like any relationship, people grow, and change and lines that were once parallel can start to veer in different directions. As much as I hate to say it, this is what it has come to for us. The truth is, we don’t want to play with anybody else... but we feel as though we have tried everything to stay together over the course of this crazy journey and fate keeps pulling us apart... and now we have reached the point where it just doesn’t make sense for us to stay together anymore. Three years ago we signed our record deal, and we were promised the world. We worked very, very hard for very long for virtually no money at all because we believed in the project and we believed we could have a future together as OUTMATCH. I will spare you the details, but basically it has come to this: we gave this everything we had to give, and unfortunately, the effort was not returned on all fronts of this partnership. So, as of now, OUTMATCH as we all know it is on an indefinite hiatus. This doesn’t mean we’ll NEVER play together again, but it seems as though for right now, the best thing for us to do is take time away from the band. It is time for us to regain control of our lives, as individuals, and start focusing on our own futures. We want to take a minute to thank all of you who have supported us along the way... whether we met you at a show, or you need more than four limbs to count how many shows you attended, or how many times you killed our tunes on CD or online.. we can’t tell you how much we appreciate it. That was the little bit of fuel that kept us going through all the rough patches. Even though this part of the ride is over, the journey is just beginning... and I’m sure that this won’t be the last you’ll hear from us. So, worry not, my friends... and please, keep enjoying our music... the websites will stay up for you all to do so. Any updates from any of us will be posted either on www.outmatch.net/ or www.myspace.com/outmatch. Once again, thank you for all of the support over the years... they’ve been the longest and shortest six of our lives. Life is funny like that. Thanks for all the memories and thank you for all of the good times. We’ll see you soon... so keep rockin’.
Much Love,
(-the OUTMATCH boys...)
Martin, Jay, Mike, and Kyle...
