About Me
DEANNA (pronounced: dee AH nah)..the name means From The Valley; Divine.
DEANNA was raised in a suburb north of Boston and learned early how to drop her r's and sing her ass off! Home was filled with the music of Stevie Wonder, Barbra Streisand and Elvis...DEANNA absorbed the musical diversity. With hairbrush in hand, she made the family basement her stage and practiced singing along with Whitney Houston, Donna Summer and Patsy Cline records. Prince turned her on! Sting made her pay attention to the craft of lyric writing! Patti made her wanna roll around on the floor and HOLLA! It all helped to make DEANNA the versatile singer and songwriter she is today.
After high school DEANNA wasted no time on recording a professional demo. While taking a break from a vocal session, she was singing, putting quarters into her parking meter. It was then that a staff member at Berklee College of Music discovered her. Impressed by her singing abilities, she was placed into the prestigious college's 5 week extensive Summer performance program.
