Margarita Zaberska was born in 1972 in the city of Sofia in a family of musicians.
Her father – Angel Zaberski has created hundreds of pop songs, arranged about same amount of tunes and composed many compositions for Big Band and Symphony Orchestra.
Her mother is Margarita Radinska – pop singer, whose career have great influence over the development of the Bulgarian pop music culture and take honored place in its history.
Her brother -Angel Zaberski Jr. combine in his talent the triunity of the professional choice – pianist, composer, arranger.
Margarita Zaberska grows up in creative environment. As the youngest member of the family she absorbs and select the information coming in the form conversations about music, stiles, particularly jazz and most of all listening to music. All this have shaped her musical culture since very early age. But how could it be else, if your every day home “guests†are Henry Mancini, Dave Grusin, Michelle LeGrande, Johnny Mandel, Puccini, Verdi etc.
Many talents compete in her child soul. Drawing, poetry, music and most of all the singing.
She starts studying piano and solfeggio when she is 10. She is a fast learner and grows very fast. She even makes her first steps as a conductor with library orchestra of the young instrumentalists.
In her teens Margarita chooses the drawing. It takes very important place in her gifts. At the age of 14 she is accepted in the School Of Applied Arts with specialty metal plastic arts.
But five years studying of fine arts does not stop the passion for music and singing. Her emotional need for singing starts when she is 10, first singing in class and later the school choir. At home Margarita records songs on a tape recorder, accompanied by her father, who, in the breaks of composing popular melodies, relax in the company of his daughter.
Later she reaches for the treasure of the music collection in the library and consciously or not, she takes charge over building her own musical ideology. The records of Barbra Streisand, Nat King Cole, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, Al Jarreau, George Benson, etc. are the invisible manuals in building a taste in the complex music, whose style Margarita defines as right, true, intelligent, superior.
After she finishes the Secondary School for Applied arts, she applies and enter the Sofia Academy Of Music “Pancho Vladigerov†in the class of her father Angel Zaberski, who is already 40 years well renown vocal teacher. Her first stage appearances start as a school girl. She sings in the student club of Sofia University, in the TV show “Variant 2†of The Bulgarian National Television and The Youth Performance Festival “Swallow Songâ€.
In her years in the Academy she sings in some of the famous jazz clubs of the time – “Frankie’sâ€, “ Swinging Hall â€, etc.
At that time and up till now she has the great chance and luck working with some of the best jazz musicians in Bulgaria like Rumen Toskov, Vassil Parmakov, Dimiter Shanov, Stoyan Yankulov, Peter Slavov Jr., Stephan Kojuharov, Michael Yosiphov and most of all with her brother Angel Zaberski, Jr., who arranged all her repertoire of popular jazz standards and evergreens.
