Designer Magazine (Music Website in Manchester)

Manchester Based Music Website / Gig Promoters

About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
AND IF YOU HAVENT CHECKED OUT OUR MAIN MUSIC REVIEWS AND INTERVIEWS WEBSITE
www.designermagazine.org
THE WEBSITE: Designer Magazine was set up over 8 years ago in Manchester as an alternative to the music press at the time. Sticking to the true mix and match culture of the noughties it's policy crossed boundaries including interviews with the likes of Bill Wyman from the Rolling Stones, Run DMC and The Temptations.

We also have interviewed some of the biggest bands arond now including My Chemical Romance, Panic! At The Disco, Muse, The Feeling, Editors, M.I.A, The Feeling, Razorlight
At the tail end of 2001 we also moved into the world of Television and Entertainment and have featured various interviews from comedy talent such as The Mighty Boosh, The Office, Bo Selecta, League Of Gentlemen and Phoenix Knights amongst others.

It's a formula that obviously worked as Designer Magazine is currently Manchester's 3rd largest independent source of entertainment news following the Manchester Evening News and City Life and attracts over 10,000 hits a week.

Our Journalists and photographers have worked for the BBC and various other publications and had their work published internationally
GIG PROMOTIONS: Nearly 3 years ago we also started promoting regular gigs and have put on bands such as:

Robbie Maddix (Stone Roses), Kid 4077 aka Nile Marr, Palladium, Brigade, Kids In Glass Houses, Dear Eskiimo (now The Ting Tings), Linchpin, Doug Walker, The Tigerpicks, Bombay Bicycle Club, Twisted Wheel, Carlis Star, El Policia, Engerica, Kick Superb, The Displacements, Pure Reason Revolution, The Hussys, Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets)....and many hundreds more!!!
We put on gigs at venues such as Night & Day, Music Box and Bar Amp. Recently we have also been working with Danny McNamara of Embrace / The Aftershow and have future gigs at The Aftershow @ Moho Live

Our showcase nights have been featured in national papers such as The Telegraph, Observer Music Monthly, Independent On Sunday, national music magazines such as NME and Clash Magazine and made the front page of Manchester Evening News. Our gigs have also had major features on Radio 1, XFM Manchester and all the local radio stations. Each gig is pushed out individually to 1250 press and media contacts
