***STOP PRESS! BIG NEWS!!****
The Aftershow, is getting bigger and better and from September 12th (Our first birthday) we are moving to twice a month at MoHo Live in Manchester’s trendy Northern Quarter.
In its first massively successful year The Aftershow has seen Manchester’s most notorious dance club, Sankeys, transformed into an indie festival, with headbanging, crowd surfing and some of the best new music around, and now MOHO LIVE a brand new club turned into THE place to go in Manchester if you want to see great live music.
It’s played host to well over 200 bands in front of over 11,000 people in just 24 nights. Big names like Badly Drawn Boy, The Magic Numbers, The Sunshine Underground, Dan Le Sac vs Scroobious Pip, The Utah Saints, The Delays, I am Kloot and many more have played alongside some of the best new bands from all over the country, and even abroad - Thomas Tantrum, Twisted Wheel, Cage The Elephant and The Ting Tings to name but a few. Many of Manchester’s finest Djs have gone along for the ride too.
Opening times are – 8pm ‘till 3am - and our aim is to bring you the best new music before anyone else.
Make a note in your diary The Aftershow will from September be held on the second and fourth Friday of every month at Moho Live on Tib Street, opposite Afflecks Palace in the Northern Quarter, Manchester. Visit www.moholive.com for more details.
This is all very exciting. See you down the front.

THE AFTERSHOW VIDEO BLOG WEEK 2!

CHECK OUT THE 1ST NIGHT OF THE AFTERSHOW VIDEO BLOG!!

I'd like to meet:

Danny McNamara the lead singer with Embrace, and no mean DJ to boot, has got together with some of his famous and infamous friends to continue a quest started at the Proud Galleries in Camden, Central London last year.
Our manifesto is simple... There is no VIP area. Everyone who makes it through the doors is a very important person to us. We will put on three or four great new bands with the emphasis on great as well as in this case... THE NORTH. The evening will begin at 8pm and finish at 3am. Throughout the night we will also showcase some of the areas best up and coming DJ's.

This is going to happen once a month, and it will never be anything less than amazing. We promise you...

At last we are bringing it home to its spiritual birthplace. The live music capital of Europe, MANCHESTER...

The name of the new club is THE AFTERSHOW.

Taking the same ethos as the previous club but tailoring it to the Manchester area. It's our opinion that London has been the focal point for the music industry for far too long, while many of the best bands are born north of the Watford gap. The idea is to build a base, a focal point, a big shining beacon that says we are here. If you want it come and get it.

We also aim to turn THE AFTERSHOW into THE place to go if you have just performed a concert in the city. Bring your band and crew and friends to us and we will provide a chilled unpretentious, but most importantly hassle free space where you can wind down after your big night.
We'd like to meet new and up and coming bands who are fucking amazing. Preferably in the Manchester area. You bring your crowd and we'll bring ours and we'll have us a party.

Just send us a request we'll check you out and get back to you. If you haven't heard from us within a week then you may be on our late replacements list so don't worry.

So if you are a great new band, a local rock and roll legend, a shit hot promoter, a trendsetter, a cultural body, a TV, radio or media mogul, already a part of the music industry or soon want to be or if you just want Manchester to take over as the centre of the world by the year 2010, get involved... Mohammad is not going to the mountain... the mountain is coming to Mohammad... tick tock tick tock!!!!
