The Kayas formed in October 2006.Lead guitarist/singer songwriter Adam Edwards started writing The Kayas songs at 14 years old. After getting kicked out of school for fighting and doing what most young tgeenagers do SMOKIN DA HERB, he found songwriting as a way to express his creative and intelligent side. Working on the roofs gave him the oppurtunity to change the direction his life was heading. He then found Ian Smith the sexy bass who was at college and working at his dads bakehouse, and they soon hooked up playing in Adams room at his youth hostel he lived at. They worked on a few songs Adam had wrote, including Traffic lights and Chavtastic, and were looking to find the right drummer. One year down the line, cheeky but very talented drummer Tom Jarvis came along touting he was the best, and they snapped him up very quickly, without even hearing him play. When they finally had a band practice, he turned out to be awesome, gelling with Ian the sexy bass, and complimenting Adams songs very quickly.
Within 2 weeks they had 5 songs supporting one of the best bands in their area, and becoming a big threat locally.Within a month, they blew the competition away, making their first demo at the Forge Studios. Then, the Forge Studios owner Phil Beaumont snapped them up very quickly as they didn't pay for their first demo, and wanted to shape the band by working with them and helping them to sound professional. They then made a second demo, after Phil had had them practicing very solidly, four days a week and setting up good gigs the following summer to showcase the band.In July 2007, The Kayas played Oswestry Music Live festival pulling the biggest crowd of the day, which was a great success. This confirmed to Phil after blowing Oswestry Music Live away that they needed a debut album of The Kayas to promote the band.'BANG BANG INABIT', their debut album, was released prior to their first big tour supporting Francis Dunnery, ex 'It-Bites' frontman, on his UK tour for 5 days, playing 5 sell out gigs in October 2007 at The Robin 2/Billston, The Boardwalk/Sheffield, Carling Academy/Islington, Fleece & Firkin/Bristol and Manchester Academy. The band soon realised what they were heading towards for 2008.In December 2007 The Kayas headlined Oswestry Christmas Live pulling a massive crowd once again, and receiving great reviews in the local press,
with a big hype around the band.Have you ever seen Chavs with guitars?????????????2008..............................
