Stokoz To Moscow are a rock/indie band from North Wales! They have newspaper reviews to fill in the rest......
Oxjam Festival - 19/10/2007:
After just an hour, a crowd of nearly 400 people had gathered, and Oxjam had more to come. A further influx of people had arrived to see Stokoz To Moscow, possibly the fastest growing band in the area at present. They stormed the crowd with half an hour of rapid fire music, relentless in both pace and dynamics. Stokoz finished their set with member by member leaving the stage, with just Martin Gallagher left holding one note, then thanking the eager crowd for their applause. The sign of true professionals, Stokoz To Moscow really are something special.
The Pentre - 27/12/2007
Preview: Headliners to round off the last gig of the year are rather fittingly Stokoz To Moscow. Having formed earlier in 2007 to much excitement, they have formed the most talked about live band in the area over the last 12 months, and aren't likely to disappoint at Christmas! Drawing influence from the most infamous rock bands in the world today, such as Muse and the Foo Fighters, Stokoz have moulded their own sound from the combined songwriting power of Martin, Gaz and Taylor. With a set covering all the bases, these guys bring highs, lows and even the odd tearful moment. It's little wonder that the last year has been an exciting time in music for the area.
Review: To finish the show, the evening and the year, Stokoz took to stage with an already warmed crowd ready to dance their night away waiting for them. Going through their back catalogue with the effortless precision we've become accustmed to, Gaz, Taylor and Martin delivered arguably their strongest set this year. With beat of drum these three young men pulverised the crowd into shape, and had them sweating with a sound that makes the neck hair stand to attention. Set over, and another fantastic night of live music draws to a close.
FLY MAGAZINE - August 'Band of the Month' - Stokoz To Moscow
Stokoz To Moscow are a brash, energetic 3-piece power rock / punk band from Deeside comprising of Martin Gallagher (guitar/vocals), Ben Griffiths (bass/vocals) and Gareth Jones (drums/vocals). They may all share singing responsibilities but Crosby, Stills and Nash they most certainly aren't (thankfully).
Although they've only been going for a year they've already taken North Wales by storm and built up a huge local following thanks to a series of barnstorming gigs along the coast - they've even got their own street team so you can tell these guys mean business!
As well as sharing vocals live they also share song-writing responsibilities and are influenced by a number of bands including The Foo Fighters, Muse, Faith No More and Godspeed You Black Emperor and Biffy Clyro to name just a few, but manage to write highly original tunes as opposed to simply paying homage to their mentors.
The band pride themselves on looking after their fans - the 'Stokoz Army' - responding to all emails and messages, delivering gig tickets and giving waifs and strays a lift home after gigs if they haven't got any transport.
If Stokoz To Moscow come to a town near you just make sure you don't miss them - they're one the the most exciting new live bands currently treading the North Wales boards and I predict very large and successful things ahead for them. Check them out at www.myspace.com/stokoztomoscow
