He was a gifted songwriter and pianist who was raised in New York City and played in The New York Big Bands back in the 20's like Paul Whiteman {King of jazz} and Ted Lewis {Mr.Entertainment}. He also played for silent movies. Tresa's Great Grandfather could make a piano dance and even in his golden years everywhere he went if they had a piano he would sit down and play. People would gather around and were mesmerized by his amazing natural talent. He later retired in Florida and passed away the year Tresa was born. Recently Tresa was informed that her Great Grandfather on her Mothers side could pic a double six string banjo and was also a gifted musician. The Jordan family would get together by the old pond and pic for hours on end. While they were pickin Granny was in the kitchen fixin a feast with her apron on and barefoot. Tresa's talent and love for music definitely comes from both sides of the track! ____________________________________________________________ ______Tresa Jordan is a singer strong enough to wear her heart on her sleeve, even when its bruised and broken. Thats because she knows the transformative power of music. She knows the greatest songs resonate because they tap into universal themes of love and loss, joy and pain. She knows because shes lived life. She has chased dreams and dealt with heartache. Writers are told to write what they know. Tresa knows real life. She also knows music. It's been a part of her life from the very beginning. She grew up in a musical family in a small central Florida town near Gainesville,FL."My dad was a drummer", she says. "When I was little I remember my dad going out to play with his band on Friday and Saturday nights. He had to wear satin shirts with cuff links and a shiny gold vest. When I was 9, I actually got to go sing with my dad and his band. I have a picture of me sitting back stage waiting to go out to perform for the very first time. It was the most awesome feeling I will never forget!" Growing up Tresa performed at festivals, talent shows, church functions, weddings, Community stage plays and just every opportunity she had. She starting taking piano lessons at the age of 9. At age 14 she was able to accompany herself at her performances. Tresa also studied Classical piano during her high school years. Those early experiences solidified Tresa's desire to pursue a creative career. At age 16 she auditioned for a limited enrollment college and was accepted into The Prestigious Florida School of Performing Arts with her emphasis in Musical Theater: singing, acting & dance."Even though I was probably the youngest student in the college, it was a great experience for me", Tresa says. "Growing up in the country, there were not many teenagers who were into music and the arts. Going to a school where that is what everyone wanted to do was wonderful." It closely resembled the TV show Fame. The creative environment helped the young singer flourish and she began writing her own songs. As her skills developed so did her resolve to make a career as a Singer-Songwriter. Tresa knew that in order for that to happen the best place to be was Nashville. She and her dad had already been there when Tresa was 14 handing out promo packages down Music Row. For the next two years they visited Nashville during the summer and one day they were trying to find a studio and stopped by a place and asked a man in the lobby if they could leave a cassette & promo pkg there. He said "Sure I'll give it to someone." They never really expected anyone to call but sure enough, when they returned to the hotel room the red light was blinking on the phone! They called the front desk and they said someone wants Tresa to give them a call, so she did and guess what? He was the man that she had given her packet to in the lobby earlier that day! She had no idea that she had handed the packet to Two time Grammy nominated songwriter, Archie Jordan, who has a long list of hits. Eight of those reaching number one on the charts, including 'It was Almost Like a Song' From The Movie The Bridges of Madison County. Other song credits include 'What a Difference You've Made In My Life' and 'Lets Take The Long Way Around The World'. Archie is the recipient of 7 gold and 3 platinum albums, and 15 ASCAP awards. Over 50 artists have recorded his songs including Ronnie Milsap, B.J. Thomas, Tina Turner, Barbara Mandrell, Kenny Rogers, Amy Grant, Placido Domingo, Shirley Caesar, The Tams, and Englebert Humperdink. Archie was calling to ask Tresa to do some demos for him at his home outside of Nashville. What a great thrill that was for her! That was I guess you could say the beginning for Tresa's musical career as an artist. Her very first demo in Nashville! He was so gracious and charming and Tresa hopes to someday have the honor of meeting Archie Jordan again!During that same trip she also met and worked with a producer from MCA records. Soon after, MCA became interested in signing her but knew she was still a little to young yet. After graduating from Florida School Of Performing Arts and attending Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm MN Tresa moved to Nashville, TN This was the beginning of Tresa's music career. She lives just outside of Nashville for 15 years and has certainly made her mark in the Music Industry with two songs from her album she co-wrote and landed on the Music Row Country Chart in 2006-07. She also had One number 1 on the Roots Bluegrass chart 2008. Tresa performed a radio show with Bill Ray Cryus and Opened up for some awesome Artist like Montgomery Gentry. The songs on Tresa's debut range from the radio ready contemporary country hit "Underneath The Wheels" to the old-school bluegrass stomp of "Ain't No Grave." She mixes in the easy groove and catchy melody of "Long Time Comin' Round" with the nostalgia of "Dancin On Daddy's Feet." A true song about her dad and "Sweet water Road" she wrote about her life growing up. Her lilting voice soars on the heartbreaking ballad "Angels Cry" and "Hold On To You," a poignant love song. "Danny's Song" is just one of Tresa's favorite songs that she use to hear when she was growing up. "We had already completed the album, but I just had to have that song on my album! I co-wrote 'Country High', with a picture in my mind of a blue sky day just sittin back and letting everything just be. 'Beyond the Blue' is a healing song of an ended romance that I am sure will relate to many", she says. But the song that may capture Tresa's essence is "I Turn To Country." This ode to a simple, natural way of life rings with a truth that's undeniable. That's because Tresa is unwavering in her commitment to write and record songs about real life."I've written many songs", says Tresa. "Some are about things I've experienced or other people I know have experienced". There has to be some kind of truthfulness to a song or it won't resonate with people.Tresa's music will definitely resonate with her fans because she doesn't sing about fairy tales, she sings about real life, and Tresa Jordan knows real life. ARMY SGT SERVED IN IRAQ. NOTE FROM SGT DAMON SUITER
About what seems like a year ago you sent me a note to say thank you for my service well I thought I would give you an update on where I am now. I was Medivaced from Iraq in April 2007 for a TBI or (traumatic brain injury) I spent 5 months at Walter Reed and than I went home for a while in August 07 in January of 08 I was taken to another hospital in MN. for more treatment and I stayed there till March 6th 08 I am now sitting in Ft Knox Kentucky waiting to be retired out of the army because of the wounds that I received in combat in Iraq. I remember the very nice note that you sent to my wife and I and thought I would say thank you. There is not enough people in this world that understand the things that we sacrifice for our Country. I hope that I can return to my family soon and that I can put this part of my life behind me and help my family to deal with the trauma that has become Iraq. Those that suffer are not always soldiers. My wife and children have had to watch their father and Mother go through all this and try and hold the family together. It has been hard but any way, thank you for your kind note it helps to think that there are people in this world who still care about the men and women in our armed forces.

Tresa Jordans debut CD displays a level of confidence and musical commitment rarely heard on a first release.
-Steven Stone, Vintage Guitar Magazine

A contemporary take on a classic country record, Jordan keeps it simple, keeps it tasty and has more going for her than her Breck girl looks. Christ Spector, Midwest Record

Jordans voice has the kind of honest, undiluted sensibility and sensuality that can neither be faked nor taught. Its a rich, sonically true, emotionally piercing quality that marvelously punctuates and embellishes the messages on pieces like Angels Cry, Hold On To You or Long Time Comin Round. Ron Wynn, Nashville City Paper

Her music will resonate with country fans, because she's singing their life back to them. She's found the words and the music to communicate the trials and triumphs of ordinary people. She doesn't sing about fairytales, she sings about real life. --Music City News

This is a thoroughly satisfying album chock full of feelgood country pop tunes that are memorable and effective. (5 +++) -- Don W. Seven, BabySue

Jordans music walks a tightrope between traditional country music and todays popular country pop sound. Greg Yost, The Grab Bag

This self-titled album uses pure acoustics to obtain a strong, raw country style, allowing Tresas crisp voice to tell the story. Tina Swanson, Music City Nashville

She braved many obstacles in her career to bring the world this masterpiece of lyric and song. --Jeff Jones, Positive Entertainment

Once in a great while, out of the blue, comes an Indie masterpiece, such is the case of Tresa Jordan... this has not been a stellar year for music, Jordan has given me hope again that it still exists. Also, that good acoustic/bluegrass still lives. --Jim Moulton, Country Stars Online

Tresa Jordan's debut is simply one of the sweetest country records I've heard this year. Aptly self-titled, it's full of natural touches but never overdone: her beautiful melodies complimented by crisp production, soulfully sung without a hint of vocal acrobatics. --Guy-Michael Grande, The Chronicle EAR CANDY
