.. ..Welcome to the Gatlin Gates official myspace page. Gatlin Gates formed in mid 2006, as an impromptu party band. The boys blend together a country feel with rock and blues. "Just imagine country with a Metallica solo!" This is how Cody has answered numerous times when asked what the band sounds like. They take alot of pride in all of their original music, in which alot of time has been sacrificed. They also have a wide variety of cover music that they like to play spanning from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Johnny Cash. They enjoy playing all styles and types of music, and they are known to occasionally break into a good heavy rock song, if they feel the mood is right. Cause as the late great Chris LeDoux said, "Even cowboys like a little bit of rock and roll!" Gatlin Gates transcends other sounds of many different genres. With soulful lyrics and a musical style all their own! They have a sound like no other band out there. They love to entertain, and keep the crowd going. Even a slow song can keep people rocking. The boys are currently working hard to get out there and get noticed. Every time they play they draw in a number of new fans. They love to pump energy into the crowd. The unique addition of the soulfully powerful guitar solos featured in almost every song, gives the band a rockin' country sound. Rather it be the powerful fret rattling breakdown in "Lonesome Creek", or the painful farewell anthem to a lost friend in "Goodman", the solos really make their music stand out. All of the songs from the band can really reach out and touch everyone on many different levels. Like remembering that love that got away in "Falling Stars" or just rocking to some good ole' cowboy rock in "Cowboy"! Gatlin Gates is a four piece band, with three boys from Oklahoma, Eddie Bannister keeping the beat on the drums, Cody Abbott playing rhythm guitar and singing lead vocals, And on lead guitar out of Mustang, Oklahoma, Justin Crossno, and last but not least bass player Tyler Nichols, out of Lincoln, Nebraska! Keep an eye out for these boys; you will be hearing their name alot more in the near future.
