"I remember when I was just a 13-years-old boy one morning in early september of 1970 I had this certain one experience...
Not quite awake yet and still a bit on the wings of the forgone night I was calmly heaving breakfast - some coffee and toast as usual - while incidantly listening to the radio. I heard a preacher talking about something like a christian open air sit in with thousands of bikers somewhere in Northern Germany. Somehow his speech got me on the hook. It maybe was like this because I possibly saw a contradiction, finding that such a crowd of wild-bearded, long-haired hard core bikers praying to God peacefully in just one mind, were two things that seemed to not really going together - at least to my childish imagination of those days.
Looking back from now after all these years I must say that an image like the mentioned one has always been - and still is - really fascinating to me.
The next thing happening this morning was, that these radio guys, after the preacher had finished, instead of a choral fired up a brandnew rock and roll song ... and this one was "Up Around The Bend" by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Up to this point of time rock music has absolutely not been my cup of tea - but this certain morning from one second to the other things had changed drastically. A single moment in my life has just been the initial spark to start a fire, has put me on my way to become a rocksinger myself.
13 years later I met Uli Jon Roth. And today I can surely say that it was mainly the vocal recordings to his album "Beyond the Astral Skies" which helped me to open up a door...
I see myself as an emotional singer. I discovered to trust on a supreme power of inspiration, the spiritual force as a guiding light which one can deeply believe in.
I feel deep gratitude about a gifted talent - in my view this means a strong obligation to destiny at the same time.
Music seems to be the most tender sword on the battlefields of love - my sword is my voice. I promise : I am gonna use it !
