Ciao, I am a guitarist and composer based in London and north Italy. I play with the band "A to Z" that I run with saxophonist James Arben. I also play with others bands includindg "Quazamba", "Simplon Group" and my own trio. I was a prize winner student in 1999 at the "Nuoro Jazz" courses directed by trumpetist Paolo Fresu in Sardinia. I then mooved to London and gained a first class honors Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance from Middlesex University and a Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance/Composition from the conservatory "Guildhall School of Music and Drama" in 2002. As my main interests are in modern jazz and contemporary improvised music, I then decided to spend a couple of week in New York in 2005 in order to meet the trumpetist and composer Ralph Alessi and to study with him and Jim Black at the SIM faculty. That was great! I have played in many clubs and festivals in Italy, UK, France, Switzerland and Germany. With the renowned Italian “Civica Jazz Band” I played with Dave Liebman, Eddie Daniels, Dave Ratksin and Patrice Caratini. As a freelance musician, I did studio sessions in Italy and UK and have collaborated with the London based JPM productions.
