Laura Collins

Hello. I am a singer and singer-pianist. Some call me a jazz poet, some call me a myspace cowboy. I love old-style jazz and do nice old tunes in my gigs, but also more modern songs of my own. I studied jazz at the Guildhall School of Music where I studied with lush singers like Anita Wardell, Lee Gibson, Norma Winstone, Trudy Kerr and Tina May. I have been lucky enough to work with some great young London-based musicians and also have had experience with established types such as the great Jacob Karlsson Trio.I am very possibly the tallest lady in jazz and also slightly less possibly the Welshest. My virtues include tongue twisters and my vices involve over-use of the word, 'lush'.Big up to all artists out there in the yourspace ether - amazing to see so many with so much talent doing their thing!
