GISLE TORVIK IS SPONSORED BY IBANEZ GUITARSGisle Torvik... After playing in some bands, it was in 1999 where his first album with his own band came out. Sigmund Groven, Petter Wettre, Frode Berg, Endre Christiansen and Torstein Lofthus contributed to “Naked without a Guitar” becoming a reality. Torvik was at that time only 23 years old. Since that time, Torvik works as a guitarist, producer and arranger. He also teaches guitar, harmony, arranging, and composing and music theory. He also teaches courses at NISS, College in Buskerud, School of Rhythm, Ringerike school of arts. He is also a guest instructor at many other schools.Torvik is first and foremost a jazz guitarist, but has worked in all forms of music.New Album: Making music comes natural to me without any consideration if I am crossing any musical genre boundaries. The album "A Better Moment" is my first with vocals. Jorunn Hegermann has a beautiful voice which goes well with my music. Many musicians have contributed to this album to make it an album of depth and variety. I always focus my compositions around a strong melody. That will always be the most important factor. When the idea comes, the arrangement usually is soon to follow. On this album I have composed, arranged, and produced as well as played all the guitars myself. I want this album to sound both lively and organic. It was a balancing act, but after many hours in the studio, I feel that I have accomplished just that. Giert Clausen in fersklyd.no has done a fantastic job with both sound and mixing. He was extremely creative and has contributed enormously to this album. He has also been a great man to debate over the production of the album. The album is not released!
