About Me

I was born in New Zealand, brought up in Oxfordshire and have just bought a house with my fiance in North Lincolnshire...exciting times!I'm 26, and graduated from LIPA in 2003 with a Performing Arts/Music degree. I have spent the last 4 years very happily touring with the phenomenon that is The Australian Pink Floyd Show, as a backing vocalist. I've been lucky enough to travel with them all over the place, singing on tours of the U.K., Germany, Italy, America, Canada and South America , and various festivals in Malta and Sweden. What a job! Can't complain...;-)Over the past 5 years I've been developing my own songs, trying to write a lot and have been working with loads of great musicians recently on a new demo project which I hope to have finished by Christmas. Watch this space!!I have always loved to sing, and I like to believe that it shows in my voice, my songs and my performance. Before training at LIPA I worked with my own gospel choir which I founded in Sixth Form, and have also taught singing, mainly in primary schools, running workshops and generally having fun making music. I have many different influences, my taste ranges from Zeppelin to Nina Simone, Diana Krall to Ben Folds, Jill Scott to Joni Mitchell; I've never been able to name my favourite song or vocalist (however, my favourite guitarist has to be the mighty Jimmy Page...)I am looking to form a covers band in early 2008 to play gigs around the UK, hopefully for corporate events, weddings and in nice bars...you know the drill!My original music is jazzy and soulful with a unique vibe. My voice is fairly deep, warm, and natural, and the songs have expressive lyrics. Have a listen to decide for yourself!
