About Me

I served as the U.S. National Police Surgeon from May 1996 til 2006, appointed in a non-partisan capacity via the Clinton administration. In this position I would speak with members of the US Senate and Congress about public safety, and I made health recommendations. I honoured law enforcement officers injured or killed in the line of duty, and provided counceling for their families. I have been involved in medical research, and private practice, which is where my main focus is today.
Before becoming a doctor I was a teacher, a preacher, and a social worker, and by the time I graduated from medical school I had become an atheist.
I have personally come to the conclusion that religion is illogical and irrational, however in my capacity as National Police Surgeon, I am required to use some degree of diplomacy.
On May 15, 1996 I received the honour of Knighthood from The Order of Michael the Archangel.
Having been on both sides of the religion-science divide, I have come to find science to be the enlightening force for humankind. The wealth of scientific knowledge and evidence is astounding, to a degree that the average person has no idea. Science more than adequately explains our world, and how life developed through natural processes rather than through superstitious doctrine.
The first century writer and philosopher Seneca wrote, "Religion to the common people is truth, to the wise false, and to the rulers useful."
