How do I sum it all up? Currently a stay-at-home mom with 2 sons - the oldest is nine and the youngest will be two in February. I have an AS degree in Graphic Design and love to write, but don't find much time lately. I've been published previously but it was all smut. Good smut dammit, but smut nonetheless. I like to fantasize about being a respectable writer one day, but not sure when that will happen. I shoud get my ass in gear
I have decided to go back to school for science education and want to teach high school students. The material is close to the science I want to teach, and I want to interact with older kids. Kids close to adulthood. Teenagers are emotional and have that I'm-going-to-do-something-with-my-life spark. And if they don't have that spark, I want to help them get it. I want to help kids look at the world more ratioinally and join in on the fight against ignorance.
I'm not very political, but I distrust the government and don't consider myself a republican or a democrat. If fact, I rather hate labels. In my opinion, religion and politics should never mix and I feel opressed by both.
I admit it - I am a monkey.

I'm interested in a lot of things, but what I want to do and what I DO do, are two different things.I want to travel and see the world, starting with this continent. Travel the US, see the Grand Canyon, Niagra Falls, the Redwoods - Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Bahamas. I've been to Mexico! :) Want to see England, Ireland, Greece, Italy, Africa, China, Spain. Go to space? Take a submarine trip down to the depths of the ocean? Skydiving, parasailing, paragliding, skiing - I haven't even been snorkeling! Unless you count the pool, and even then I kept drinking the water. I like to read, watch movies and bike.

I'd like to meet:

Isaac Asimov, Ayn Rand, Carl Sagan, Sigmund Freud, George Carlin, Charles Darwin, Friedrich Nietzsche, Albert Einstein, Richard Dawkins, Penn Jillette, Woody Allen, Sam Harris

Music:

I like a lot of music, but I admit I need to "get out more." Definitely need to find some new stuff, most of my favorites are from the 90's, 70's or 60's. I don't like gospel or christian music, and don't care for most rap, country or R&B. I like some latin music, but am not really up to date on who's who in that genre - heard the soundtrack to Desperado? That's the kind of latin music that does it for me. Not the little girls who dress up like hookers and try to sell their stuff to America.

If it's not gospel, and it's not nailed down I might like it. Weezer, Some U2, Train, Tracy Chapman, Tori Amos, Tom Waitts, Sugar Ray, Stroke 9, Stone Temple Pilots, Stone Sour, Steepenwolf, Soul Asylum, Smashing Pumpkins, Cheryl Crow, Sam Roberts, Randy Travis, The Raconteurs, Puddle of Mud, ZZ Top, The White Stripes, Tool, Sublime, Staind, Smile Empty Soul, Slipknot, Sarah McLachlan, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead, Pink Flyod, Ozzy, The Presidents of the USA, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, Nickelback, Matchbox 20, Marilyn Manson, Lit, Linkin Park, Louis Armstrong, Limp Bizkit, Lenny Kravitz, Led Zeppelin, Joe Walsh, Joan Osbourne, John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Buffet, Jimi Hendirx, The Doors, Joe Croce, Jewel, The James Gang, Ja Rule, Inidgo Girls, Incubus, Iggy Pop, House of Pain, Hot Chocolate, Green Day, Gorillaz, Goo Goo Dolls, Golden Earring, Godsmack, GNR, Gin Blossoms, Garbage, The Georgia Satellites, Fugees. Fatboy Slim, Dido, Faithless, Violent Femmes, Everclear, Evanescence, The Faces, Eric Clapton, Eminem, The Eagles, Drowning Pool, Disturbed, Dave Matthews Band, Dashboard Confessional, The Cranberries, Counting Crows, Coldplay, Live, Clint Black, Chevelle, Carol King, Carlos Santana

Movies:

This could go on and on...but I'll try to spare you. I like watching horror, even if most of it is pretty bad. Worst movie ever - Blair Witch. Another really bad movie - Signs. My favorites include 28 Days Later, Desperado, Fight Club, Running Scared, Dream with the Fishes, Shawshank Redemption, The Weather Man, Elizabethtown, Happy Gilmore, Nothing to Lose, Resident Evil, Aliens, 8-Legged Freaks, Predator, The Shining, The Ring, The Grudge, Frailty, Lord of War, Moulin Rouge, Jacob's Ladder, Platoon, Natural Born Killers, Clerks, Reservoir Dogs, Indiana Jones, Nightmare on Elm Street, Scarface, The Breakfast Club, Pulp Fiction, Silence of the Lambs, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Deliverance, The Godfather, The Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby, Grease, Carrie, Pycho, Jaws, The Haunting, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Witches of Eastwick, Wolfen, There's Something About Mary, Me, Myself and Irene, Once Bitten, Scream, Day of the Dead, Shaun of the Dead, What Lies Beneath, The Army of Darkness, The Evil Dead, The Devil's Advocate, The Stand, An American Werewolf in Paris, The Sixth Sense, Interview with a Vampire, Seabiscuit, War of the Worlds, Batman Begins, The Jacket, Full Metal Jacket, Pitch Black, Legend, They Live, Daredevil, The Fly, The Cube, Tomb Raider, The Lost Boys, Flatliners, The Crow, Independence Day, Contact, Fifth Element, Minority Report, The Terminator 2, The Matrix, V for Vendetta, A Clockwork Orange.
Somebody shut me up already...

Television:

UGH. If it's on I'm trying to ignore it becuase it's probably Blues Clues or Spongebob. I am really out of touch with today's t.v. society. I haven't even seen a complete episode of American Idol. However, it's amazing I know what it is. I figured it out a couple years into it's running.
