In 2000-2003 I went to the Royal College of Music in Stockholm where I studied nyckelharpa playing with Olov Johansson and Johan Hedin . During this period I also got introduced to Hungarian and Transsylvanian folk music by taking lessons in hungarian Hurdy Gurdy-playing with Jószef Simó (of Barozda ) and by some really inspiring sessions with violin master Csaba Harkó .
My main instrument is the "silverbasnyckelharpa" (drone nyckelharpa) - the standard nyckelharpa during the later period of the 19th century. I also play the alto nyckelharpa (which approaches the sound of a cello), electric nyckelharpa, hurdy-gurdy, kontra (3-stringed viola) and some other music instruments "just for fun".
My main groups is Sarek and Fomp . I'm also involved in various music projects - both folk music projects and contexts consisting of other genres like renaissance, baroque, pop and rock.
My alto nyckelharpa and my electric nyckelharpa are both made by one of the worlds most skilful nyckelharpa makers: Olle Plahn .
I don't know much about my silverbasnyckelharpa since it was made by an anonymous instrument maker some time in the earlier half of the 19th century.
