About Me

Due to a cassette with one song, Death Threats, given to my friends in british funksters Throbbing Gristle for x-mas 1978, I landed a recording contract for a single with Industrial Records. In order to record a b-side I formed Leather Nun in Gothenburgh, Sweden, Feb 1979. Roadtested the band during a festival in March -79 (scandal and overnite sensation) and then recorded three songs for IR to choose from for b-side. They couldn't choose and the single ended up an EP - Slow Death EP (Industrial Records, nov 1979). Legendary BBC-DJ John Peel took a big liking to the EP and played it every nite for two weeks. "A bona fide ace single" as UK musicmag NME put it, the EP rapidly climbed the UK indiechart. First UK gig in Feb 1980 at a sold-out Scala Cinema, London with Throbbing Gristle and Monte Cazazza. A legendary band was born and launched. From then on, the 1980's and early 90's was one big wild ride. Touring Europe and the UK on a regular basis, frontpage coverage in most european music mags, 5-star Live- and recordreviews in the UK musicpress, liveappearances or featured interviews on most important european and US radio- and tv-shows. Leather Nun is also the only swedish band or artist to record a session for John Peel.Throughout the years, Leather Nun recorded with brilliant producers like Bill Buchanan (master of the british grunge/stonerscene to be), Kim Fowley and friend/neighbour: Mick Ronson (RIP).A full biography/discography can be found on the new bandsite, www.leathernun.se (currently down). A selection of 25 Leather Nun-tracks can be heard on the radiostation LEATHER NUN R'n'R JUKEBOX (http://members.soundclick.com/station/518447). Further songs will be added throughout Spring '07.Plans are for a cd-box to be released: a re-release on cd of all vinyl singles + first two LP's (never made available on cd)+ demo's and outtakes + never before released liveconcerts.
