About Me

AMPHIBIAN - From ‘Amphibios’ meaning literally ‘living a double life.’ The Amphibians dig back to simpler times when vocals were key, melodies integral and lyrics from the heart. They mix this with a progressive backbeat for an appealing new sound unlike any other. Their offering is unique in its freshness, a change and yet preserving valid elements from the past. In a word-EVOLVING. The Amphibians’ track record speaks for itself and gives an indication of their enormous popular appeal. The versatile songwriting team of brothers Fred and Bob Garaffa hail from Central New Jersey and also perform vocals, guitar and bass in live shows. They have fine-tuned their act at many NYC area clubs including the Stone Pony, CBGB’s and the Bitter End.CREDITS: Internet Chart Success: Achieving Two 1 and Four top 4 songs on Garageband.com: 1)“New Day (I Feel Alone)” reached 1 in power pop and 1 out of 9,699 in the rock genre. 2) "Cabane de Dounier" 1 in groove rock and 1 of 3,147 songs in the rock genre. 3) "Hangin' On" reached 3 out of 15,665 songs in the pop/rock genre. 4)"Rain Came Down" reached 4 in the rock genre. *" Keep your Distance" reached 1 in the powerpop genre on Songplanet.com. * “New Day (I Feel Alone)” Reached 1 on BTN three different times * Included on The Best Of Billboard Talent Net’s “New Talent Spotlight” CD *AWARDS AND ACCOLADES: * First and Second Prize, Musicians Network Songwriting Contest * Mid-Atlantic Song Contest winners * Four Billboard Magazine Songwriting Awards * Recognized by ASCAP Songwriters Workshop *“New Jersey’s Best Rock” CD, released by WDHA 105.5 FM, Dover, New Jersey * Finalists in Paramount's "Sol Goode" soundtrack contest. * Two songs chosen for United Nations UNESCO New Songs For Peace Project. * Winner of Soundclick's International Songwriters Discovery Network song contest 1/05 in the rock category.
