Living in a Dream

About Me

Myspace Layouts - Myspace Editor - Image Hosting

I have always been interested in music having been first inspired at an early age by Herb Albert and the Tiajuana Brass Band. Taking trumpet lessons in the fifth grade, I continued to play in the school jazz, concert and marching bands until graduating high school in 1983.
My interest in electronic music began in 1978 when a friend introduced me to Jean Michel Jarre's Equinoxe. I started out on an electronic piano given to me by my grandfather. My first synthesizer was the Korg Mono/Poly MP-4 and still my favorite. It will never leave my set-up. In 1983, "Visionary", "Indigo", and "Psyco Surgery for Early Morning Risers" were recorded on a two-track reel-to-reel tape recorder. In April of 1983, my first real time (live) performance of my synthesized music was performed at my high school talent show.
In March of 1984, I was involved in a very serious automobile accident which even after an eight month stay in the hospital and intensive therapy for a year after that, I still was left with limited use of my left hand for my music. More or less, I have learned to work around it.
In 1985, I did concerts with the Creative Underground (a group of musicians performing solo electronic music to the surrealistic light images of Partick Tooker). I released "Abstractions", a ninety minute extravaganza highlighting many of my musical styles which also serves as an excellent overview of my music.
I want my music to stretch the imagination, and the meaning of each piece is determined by the listener. It's a very personal thing...so keep checking back. You'll be "hearing" more from me soon!!!
All the best, Jesse
I have always maintained that true friendship is the greatest gift one could ever be given.

Hilary Duff
was in Ocean Grove, NJ--USA, for several weeks from September to November of 2007 filming her movie "Greta."
Ocean Grove is one town over from me, where I was able to watch Hilary in action, filming a movie.

OTHER ARTISTS I ENJOY INCLUDE:
HILARY DUFF--my "inner bubble gum"
AVRIL (Lavigne, of course--the best damn thing)
RAPHAEL and Aly, music that speaks to my soul. (Seen here with Raphael and Aly [Raphaelmusic.com], photo by B.Brennan)
Duncan Sheik, BIG TIME on lyrics, (though mine are more politically oriented) [with Duncan in Philadelphia, below]
The Beatles, Paul McCartney, The Partridge Family (surprised?), CHUCK MANGIONE, Yes (at one point more so than now), the film scores of John Williams, and MECO (primarily his music arranged by the legendary Broadway arranger Harold Wheeler, responsible for the 1977 disco version of "STAR WARS"). Oh...and Bugs Bunny.

My Top Three all-time favorite albums ever recorded are Jean Michel Jarre's "Oxygene," MECO's disco version of “The Wizard of Oz,” and Pink Floyd's "The Wall":
Jean Michel Jarre
Oxygene

The sounds and feel of which I consider to be PERFECTION in electronic music.

~{0O-+-O0}~

MECO
The Wizard of Oz

Calling it “disco” really cheapens it, as it's an *EXPLOSIVE* nonstop, upbeat, orchestral arrangement of the entire movie--a half hour long, broken into two parts (it was recorded in 1978, in the days of vinyl). It is brilliantly arranged by the genius of famed Broadway arranger Harold Wheeler, with the many different themes appearing in various places throughout...being played in differing moods--against each other and so forth--giving it the feel of a musical stage production.

~{0O-+-O0}~

Pink Floyd
The Wall

Roger Waters’ true MASTERPIECE--conceptually, lyrically, and musically...a work of sheer genius.

Sounds Like: Tangerine Dream
Jean Michel Jarre
Mike Oldfield
Klaus Schulze
