Mark Slim is a young Italian Blues guitarist with a deep passion for the West Coast & Texas Blues style. His heroes are: T-Bone Walker, Pee Wee Crayton, Lowell Fulson and the great Magic Sam for the Chicago style.
With his own band, "The Mark Slim Trio" (Luca Dell'Aquila on the bass and Marco Manassero on the drums), he plays a sincere Blues with a strong sound and a great feeling. Mark Slim plays also Delta Blues with Fabrizio Soldà (harp).
He likes always remember what Willie Dixon said: "... Blues is the roots, other music are the fruits".

Mark Slim was born in Padova - Italy in 1982 and he started to play acoustic guitar at the age of 10. Since he was in his teens he fell in love with the Blues listenin' his brother's records.
His really passion is the Delta Blues and in 2003 he flew to the U.S.A. in Austin - Texas where he staied for a month studin' guitar at Austin Guitar School. Here he studied with different teachers: Ted Hall, David Hamburger, Bret Boyer and Tony Redman. During his permanence in Austin he plaied in different clubs in the 6th street (Friends) and in the suburb of Austin (Gino's Italian Grill, Dan Mc Klusky's, Guero's Taco Bar, Rack Daddy's and Nutty Brown Cafe).
In Austin he has plaied with great musicians like: Van Wilks, Tony Redman, Ted Hall, Marvin Botera, Randy Larkin, Bevis Griffin, Johnny Dee & Rocket 88's (a wonderful Rock & Roll band), Rusty Wier, the great Italian harp plaier "Banzai" La Rocca...
After this experience in the U.S.A. he came back home and started to play with a really old style Chicago Blues band: the South Side Blues Band (Orlando "Chillen" Silva harp & vocals, Luca Piantoni guitar and Stefan Irsara drums).
In October 2003 he plaied with the Matt Sicchieri Band in a small tour with the Texan guitarist Ted Hall, Massimo Sbaragli on the bass, Pino Liberti on the drums and Matt Sicchieri on the guitar.
In June 2004 he flew to the U.S.A. and plaied in jam with the bluesman Fred Sender and his great Blues band at W.C. Handy Park in Memphis - TN and with Charlie Love & The Silky Smooth Blues Band at Kingston Mines at Chicago - IL.
Come back to Italy, he decided to start with an own band: Mark Slim Trio with Davide Saccà on the drums (replaced in 2008 by Federico Patarnello and than by Marco Manassero) and Luca Dell'Aquila on the bass. A small combo with a solid rhythmic section to play West Coast Blues and Country Blues with an old sound in memory of his heroes: T-Bone Walker & Pee Wee Crayton.
In 2007 he returned in the U.S.A. for a month (Chicago, St. Louis, Memphis, New Orleans, all around Mississippi and Arkansas states) and he plaied with the JUKE JOINT ALLSTARS BLUES BAND.
