De Ville Blues Band

The De Ville Blues Band was born in the early Nineties after a long study and experience, working out their innate love for the Blues. The name recalls the French tradition in Louisiana, to indicate a city blues exploring the deep roots of the great fathers of the Mississippi, the great culture of the Music of the Devil, searching for a solid and infectious sound, conveying at their best energy and feeling. The De Ville sound is gut and enthralling and creates magical atmospheres with the washboard, typical Zydeco instrument which, interlacing with the guitar solos, proposes a fusion of great expressiveness. Their repertoire goes from traditional New Orleans blues to the more electric one of Chicago and Texas, to end with hints of British Blues. Their project tends to propose a blues linked to their own origins, with unpublished pieces of their own and historic tracks of the Forties and Fifties, arranged in an original way. The De Ville Blues Band has been performing all over the territory, in the best pubs and music clubs, for over ten years presenting their music with a fluent and tough mark, also taking part in cultural musical events, spreading their creed in the culture of Blues. They have played in Jam Session with famous artists among whom Cooper Terry, Carey Bell, Andy J. Forest. They have taken part in important national blues festivals with considerable participation and widespread success, opening concerts for famous bluesmen from Chicago and New Orleans. In September 2006 they took part in Tropea Blues Festival, where they got an award for the best bands. The De Ville roams freely also in acoustic atmospheres, historically revisiting and melting the most authentic Blues styles, from the origins of Delta to the most energetic and moving sonorities of New Orleans, with Cajoun influences. The contaminations the Blues has gone through during its history and evolution generate the authenticity of their very personal style. The washboard and the dobro guitar recall the typical Delta Blues sonorities and melting with the double bass present unpublished works in a half-acoustic vein. The acoustic bass and the warmth of Gibson 335 complete the harmonic structure and the sound. Il nome richiama la tradizione francese presente in terra di Louisiana, ad indicare un Blues cittadino che esplora nelle radici profonde dei grandi padri del Mississippi, nella grande cultura della “MUSICA DEL DIAVOLO”, alla ricerca di un sound corposo e trascinante, comunicando nel meglio delle possibilità espressive energia e feeling. Il sound De Ville è viscerale e coinvolgente e crea atmosfere magiche con il Washboard, strumento tipico di richiamo ZYDECO che, intrecciandosi con i soli di chitarra, propone una fusione di grande espressività. Il repertorio spazia dal Blues tradizionale di New Orleans a quello più elettrico di Chicago e del Texas, per finire con alcuni cenni di British Blues. La loro ricerca è indirizzata a proporre un Blues legato anche alle proprie origini, con brani inediti di loro composizione oltre a brani storici degli anni 40 e 50 , arrangiati in modo del tutto originale. Da oltre un decennio la De Ville Blues Band si esibisce in tutto il territorio, nei migliori music club e pub, presentando la propria musica con impronta fluida e tenace, intervenendo anche in manifestazioni musicali-culturali, diffondendo il proprio credo nella cultura del Blues. Hanno suonato in Jam session con noti artisti, tra i quali Cooper Terry,Carey Bell, Andy J.Forest. Hanno partecipato a rassegne importanti di Blues a livello nazionale, riscontrando notevole partecipazione e consenso da parte del pubblico, aprendo concerti a noti bluesmen di Chicago e di New Orleans. Nel settembre del 2006 partecipano al Tropea Blues Festival, dove ricevono un riconoscimento per le migliori band. La De Ville spazia anche nelle atmosfere acustiche rivisitando storicamente e fondendo gli stili più autentici del Blues, dalle origini del Delta alla più energica ed emozionante sonorità di New Orleans, con influenze di carattere Cajoun. Le contaminazioni che il blues ha subito nel corso della storia e della sua evoluzione attraverso le proposte di vari artisti, generano l'autenticità del loro personalissimo stile. Il Washboard ed il Dobro richiamano, da soli, sonorità tipiche del Delta-Blues e, fondendosi con il contrabbasso, presentano brani inediti con una nuova lettura in semiacustico. Il basso acustico ed il calore della Gibson 335 chiudono infine la struttura armonica e completano il sound finale.
