Igor Prado fell in love with the guitar when he was 11 years old. Self-taught and left-handed, Igor learned to play the guitar upside down and backwards (with the thinnest string on top) and once he discovered the blues, he took on the most challenging undertaking – to study and play the blues in Brazil. Currently, he plays in the “Prado Blues Bandâ€, which is a group dedicated to Blues / West Coast Swing / Jump Rhythm & Blues. The band has released 3 CD’s in Brazil and distributed in the United States under the label Pacific Blues Records in which became one of the leading albuns among all blues artists.During his solo career Igor released his first solo album called "Upsidedown" with special guests like R.J Mischo, Steve Guyger, Greg Wilson, Ron Dziubla (Sax player of Lynwood Slim, Kid Ramos), J.J Jackson and others. It was named after his lefty, upsidedown playing techniques and also because of the fact that he is a ‘south american playing blues’.
Igor and his band has also played in many tours with different international artists such as Jamie Wood, Enrico Crivellaro, Eddie C. Campbell, Steve Guyger, James Wheeler, Phil Guy, R.J Mischo, Rick Estrin (Little Charlie & The Nightcats).
Real Blues Magazine placed Igor’s album ‘UpsideDown’ under the top ten Blues CD’s chart of 2007. He has received many nominations and compliments of several magazines such as Blues Revue (US), Blues Matters (England), Blues Wax (US), Twoj Blues (Poland), etc.

â€Your guitar playing is equal to that of the better US guitarists in this same genre. You clearly have a deep grasp of the various early 1950s blues traditions. You play with taste, talent, energy and good attention to tone. The band are tight, and the players are very good. I enjoyed your vocals too!â€

â€You are one of those handful of players, true to the form of West Coast blues but at the same expressing your own musical personality through it. Your guitar licks are imaginative and memorable – it is evident that you know guitar stylings of Junior Watson, Hollywood Fats or Pee Wee Crayton from A to Z but instead of copying them used them as a base for your own style. Very classy!â€
Przemek Draheim / Blues Poland
