About Me

I live in Beautiful Britain, Derby, in the amazing and scenic county of Derbyshire, and perform the Neil Diamond Tribute, covers sets and am currently working on my own songs (Due to be launched on my other site soon)which are Country Rock/ Acoustic/Folk type songs. my Tribute website iswww.neildiamondtribute.co.uk Born in Yorkshire, I moved to P.E. in South Africa when I was a tiny tot and returned to U.K. a good few years ago.I.R.O. the music of Neil Diamond, he is an extremely gifted songwriter and performer and I am constantly amazed by the fantastic response and audience diversity when I perform the Neil Diamond Tribute. His music is known, and appeals to all age groups so it is a real priviledge to be able to perform his songs. Neil Diamond is a Legend and sells out Arena's when he sets out on tour, producing an incredible live show.I like all kinds of music, though I do have ROCK roots. Have been writing my own songs for a few years now ( A few too many!!!! The grey hair and wrinkles, crinkles are taking over)I have set up a MATTSTONEMUSICUK site which is still under construction, but will carry my original songs, COUNTRY ROCK orientated.I enjoy good humour, good food, good mates, motorcycles, music of course, nature, travel, and positive life experiences, after all as far as I know we only live once.Live every moment as if it were your last! I love guitars and have been fortunate enough to have had Ovation, Fender and Epiphone models. Still don't own a Gibson Les Paul but will do one day, and also want to get hold of an Ovation 12 String. Of course an Adamas would also do quite nicely. Unfortunately, I am not able to approve friend requests who have their profile set to Private.

Heroes:

My Dad, a fantastic man who is unfortunately fighting cancer day by day, though his condition is terminal. He's been there all my life, the quiet, supportive kind of person, non judgemental who never has a bad word to say about anyone and has always had a smile when it's needed. I have been very fortunate to have had a wonderful Father- Thanx Dad XXX22/05/2007 At 3.20am this morning, my Dad lost his brave fight.A great thank you to the Nurses and Doctors at the Nightingale MacMillan Unit in Derby who have cared for and helped him and our family during this time.As a footnote, when we got into the car to leave the unit after my Dad's passing, I switched on the radio and the first words we heard were, "My life is Brilliant", the James Blunt song. Of course, that was an incredible moment that will never be forgotten.Even though I know the background to the song, the first couple of lines of the songs will remain with me reflecting that particular moment in time.
