Together we will beat cancer

About Me

Cancer Research UK is the world's leading independent charity dedicated to cancer research. We carry out scientific research to help prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. We have discovered new ways to beat cancer that together have saved hundreds of thousands of lives across the world.

One in three of us will get cancer at some point in our lives. Our groundbreaking work, funded almost entirely by the general public, will ensure that millions more people survive.

We are a charity registered under number 1089464 and a company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales under number 4325234.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

About breast cancer

Breast cancer claims the lives of 12,500 women each year in the UK. Men can also get breast cancer but it is rare - around 335 cases are diagnosed each year.

The good news is, thanks to earlier detection and improved treatment, breast cancer death rates in the UK have fallen by a fifth over the last ten years.

Help us beat breast cancer

Cancer Research UK spent £22 million on breast cancer research in the last year. This year, our All join together campaign hopes to raise £2 million for breast cancer research – but we need your help to reach it. All you need to do is think pink !

There are lots of ways to get involved - register for a fundraising pack , join your local All Walk Together event or help us spread the word about the campaign.

Why not add a breast cancer awareness banner to your MySpace page?

Just copy and paste the below code into the 'About Me' section of your profile.

You can also add our breast cancer ribbon to your profile or send it to a friend and spread the word about breast cancer research.
