Heidi is said to be one of the UK's top singers and songwriters of our time.
In December 2006, Heidi released a Christmas song to raise money for childrens cancer charities. Heidi appeared in local newspapers to promote this and various radio shows all around the country. She was then contacted by a project called Famecast, where Heidi came 1st through the first four rounds of the competition.
Heidi said - "It was the winter of 1991. Everybody had to audition for the school play and I so wanted to sing. Having been really ill as a child, I caught a chest infection and missed the auditions. I was really upset....so I wrote my own musical at home at the age of about 8 or 9 probably! I had a book of all the songs I'd written and I'd made rows of dots to remind me how the tunes went. (I still do that sometimes as I can't read music) It was then that I realised my life was never going to be the same again! I kept writing and writing and writing...until one day, I found a voice recorder in my dads cupboard and I've sung non stop since. Once I start something, I don't give up until I'm a success. You should never give up on your dreams and if you don't give up, you won't fail."
In March 2008, Heidi secured a place in the grand finals on UK Unsigned (where Leona Lewis and Katie Melua were discovered initially) Heidi was voted as one of the top 6 singers and songwriters of the UK which allowed Heidi to perform at the Hackney Empire. Heidi said "It was a fantastic night of my life. Everyone in the audience got involved and were cheering me on. Everybody back stage was singing my song after I'd sung and I made some fantastic friends and contacts there. I'll never forget it!"
Following this, Heidi entered the UKSC (UK Songwriting Contest) where she beat over 6,000 artists and finished the contest as a semi finalist. This is a big achievement as the standard is so high and there are thousands of entrants.
Before this in 2007, Heidi spent some time writing songs for the girl group Touch2wild. She has written the majority of their songs including Up Against Me, Wicked Way, Everytime, Touch2Wild and is currently writing the melody line for the song Fantasy. The girls are shooting the video for this song in April. All production by Essex producer Fred Deer. At present and for the next few weeks, Heidi is focussing on writing more material for her up and coming debut album. She never runs short of songs or ideas and just keeps going....and going from strength to strength!
New doors keep opening for Heidi as she spends day in and day out on her music. She commented;"I do have a very, VERY hectic life. I am so sure that this is what I need to do more than ever before. Nothing will get in my path and that's the way it's going to stay. I love my fans sooooooo much. They are so supportive and kind. I love you all! I'm not in for an easy ride ahead...really quite the opposite, but you guys make the bumps in this road a breeze. Thank you all!!! xxxxxxx"
