About Me

Okay. This whole thing started as an idea to have Jolly sing a Neil Diamond tune at a Rikters' show. But it soon snowballed into what has become the First Original World's Greatest Neil Diamond Tribute Band. It is very important to note; we are NOT a cover band. This is a tribute to the most amazing man on the planet, Mr. Neil Diamond. The band was orignially conceived as a two man show, with Doug "DJ Blax" Jenkins of the Rikters on guitar and Jolly using his silky smooth voice to wow audiances, but after Brad "Bradical" Quandt of Captain Fantazzle expressed interest in playing guitar, DJ Blax was freed to play trombone. Bradical brought with him Dennis "Denny Pops" Sheridan of Lightning in a Bottle on bass. After scouring Chicagoland for a percussionist, we discoverd everything we were looking for was in our own backyard and Riley "Larry" Ryan of the Rikters signed on. Jane "the Train" Sukiennik, of Lucius Warbaby, filled out the Solid Diamond Brass Section on trumpet. We played our first show at Hotti Biscotti in Chicago on April 10, 2006. We filled tthe place up and sold them out of beer but we knew we needed something more. After pestering everyone I knew looking for a pianst, we found and added Sean "No Name" Millikan on keyboards in June. In September 2006, DJ Blax and Bradical left NDP to pursue other interests (DJ Blax is starting his own Geography Game Show for WCIU called "Look at the Map, Dummy!" and Bradical is considering taking part in the 7th Annual Karate Pit Fighting Championship Season.) We added Jim "Rusty Trombone" Barsanti of Pawnshop on trombone and Craig "Craiggy J" Cowan of Better Late Than Lenny on guitar that same month. In December 2006, Denny Pops left the band to move to St Louis. In January 2007, Larry left the band and Chris "the Diabetic Dorito" Smith of Logan Square joined the band.
