Hello people, bellow this you'll find a boring account of what I've studied and what I did. Indeed that isn't all, firstly, Welcome and Thanks for spending your invaluable time on this page. There are more projects I'd like to introduce here, so as soon as the samples are ready I'll upload'em. Enjoy and have a nice day! _____________Michal Vanoucek was born on October 4th 1977 in Zilina, Slovakia. Besides the basic school of education he also attended the Elementary School of Music in Zilina. He has studied piano for 8 years and cello for 3 years. In 1992 he enrolled as a student of orchestral conducting at the Conservatory of Zilina. After a few years he transferred to the Conservatory in Bratislava, where he graduated in 1998. In 1999 he was accepted as a student at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, The Netherlands where he studied first and second fase jazz piano as his major. Michal finished in 2003 with Bachelor of Music degree and in 2005 with Master of Music degree. From 1992 untill 1999 Michal worked occasionally as a studio musician in the Slovak Radio recording studios, and also participated in the contemporary projects with the Slovak Radio Orchestra as a piano player. Throughout the last years Michal has worked with different musical productions as both a piano player and conductor. These include 'Orpheus in the underworld', 'King and I', 'Mahalia', 'Kiss me Kate' in Germany and 'Aida', 'Lion King' in The Netherlands. In 2002 Michal released with the project 'To Be Or Not To Bop' a CD entitled 'Live in Nuoro', together with italian pianist Augusto Pirodda. At the North Sea Jazz festival 2003, he participated as a conductor of the string orchestra in Charlie Hadens project 'American Dreams' (also with Michael Brecker and Brad Mehldau). Michal, together with Miro Herak - slovak vibraphone player, is active as a piano player and composer in a band As Guests, which founding dates back to 1998. Established as a quartet after many personal changes, As Guests wins Pim Jacob Music Price 2004 and Dutch Jazz Competition North Sea Jazz Festival 2004. Quartet wins a tour around the all major venues in The Netherland and records a debut CD "Enter As Guests". Another quartet We Ride Bikes, which was originally initiative of dutch bassist Ruben Samama, won the first prize at Amersfoort Jazz Festival 2006 and the fourth prize at Jazz Hoeilaart 2006.
