About Me

Myspace Profile Tracker World Visitor MapHi people, welcome to this place, here is a little something about me. I was born in Rome, but right after one month my parents became resident in the still wild and beautiful island of Sardinia, where I grew up mostly as a country boy, playing football and jumping with my FANTIC125 enduro bike, and that's may be the reason why I like the contrast of living in a huge metropolitan place like London. Anyway, my father is a big fan of the mandolin, and soon I've been forced or shall I say strongly encouraged to learn how to play it from the age of four, performing in a big plectrum orchestra where I was given the first music basics. When sixteen I sold my offroad bike (still regretting) and got my first electric guitar, then started listening to the classic seventies rock bands. A few years later I discovered jazz, and in 1993 I graduated at the G.I.T. of Los Angeles where my tutors were JOE DIORIO, SCOTT HENDERSON and NORMAN BROWN among many others. Last year I moved to London, where I teach at the INSTITUTE of CONTEMPORARY MUSIC PERFORMANCE. Here in the UK I am starting to have new collaborations and willing to have a lot more in the future.By the time I was resident in Sardinia, I played, arranged, and composed with ANDREA PARODI, an incredibly talented singer and songwriter, whose collaboration leaded to a row of opportunities to play with artist like AL DI MEOLA, israeli singer NOA with ZOAR FRESCO and GIL DOR, AFRICAX, FARAUALLA, FRANCESCO SOTGIU, PIERO PELU', GABIN DABIRE', ANNA OXA, RITA MARCOTULLI, MAURO PAGANI, LE BALENTES, ELENA LEDDA, ARMANDO CORSI, MARCO FADDA, RICCARDO BARBERA, and many others high talented musicians. Along with Andrea's latest records, I also appear in the PARODI/DI MEOLA live in Santa Maria Navarrese album called MIDSUMMERNIGHT IN SARDINIA. ROSA RESOLZA, the last ANDREA PARODI record with ELENA LEDDA, has won the prestigeous italian TARGA TENCO in dialect music. Under the leadership of ALESSANDRO GARAU on drums and with SEBASTIANO DESSANAY on double bass, I recorded REBIS, a jazz album released by the SLAM records. With a septet leaded by SEBASTIANO MELONI I recorded AUDEN, a free form music album inspired by the lyrics of the english poet. LONDON STORIES is the name of the first SIMPLEMADNESS project, where my green electric guitar join NICOLA COSSU on double bass, PAOLO CARTA MANTIGLIA on clarinets and FRANCESCO SOTGIU on drums. I really want to say a big thank you to any one of these guys, for sharing these musical journeys with me.DISCOGRAPHY~~~ANDREA PARODI 2004~~~~~AUDEN 2004~~~MIDSUMMERNIGHT IN SARDINIA (LIVE) 2004, with ANDREA PARODI and AL DI MEOLA~~~~~~TAZENDA REUNION (LIVE) 2005~~~~~INTIMI RACCOLTI 2006, with ANDREA PARODI~~~~~~REBIS 2006~~~~~ROSA RESOLZA 2007, with ANDREA PARODI and ELENA LEDDA (TARGA TENCO 2007 "dialect music/musica in dialetto")~~~~~INTIMI RACCOLTI, IL CONCERTO (CD/DVD LIVE) 2007, with ANDREA PARODI, LE BALENTES, RITA MARCOTULLI
