About Me

Basically I'm not a complicated kind of guy, it's just that I would rather take the easy way in life. And I think too much... I think. This is the reason I've always liked playing music, because it stops me thinking. Just feeling. I still remember one time playing along with an old vinyl LP: 'Made In Japan', by Deep Purple. I didn't know much about rock music and keyboard at that time, but I get a flashback remembering... a strange amazing sound coming from Mars, passing through the Moon, and finally a sky full of thunder! I could feel an electric shock just listening to the speaker of my old P.A. system. I am talking about the Hammond organ.I was fifteen years old and I started to learn by myself all of 'Made In Japan', note by note. All the solos from the beautiful fingers of my hero, Jon Lord.Actually I had started to play mandolin at the age of eight, with three years of harmony and technique in classical music, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.At the age of twenty I started to play with many cover bands all around Sardinia. Deep Purple, Dire Straits, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Janis Joplin, B.B. King are some of the musical artists I grew up with.Between the age of 21 and 29 I played with some of the greatest artists in Sardinia such as Alberto Sanna, Elora, TancaRuja, Andrea Parodi, Elena Ledda, extending my knowledge to ethnic music and focussing on the accordion in the last five years. It was 2004 when I finally got my damned degree in Engineering, and I was ready to leave... destination: London.I filled up my trusty Fiat Tempra (I still regret having sold it) with all my stuff and drove 1000 miles before arriving in my new home. A common Victorian three-bedroom house in "Leslie" Road, the ideal choice for a Hammond player! As soon as I learned to say, "Cheers mate", "One... two... one, two, three, four..." and was able to distinguish between "C major" and "Si Maggiore" (which translates to B major in English, but is pronounced the same) I started to play in many venues around London without playing a semitone above!Lots of cover bands like the 'Greg Derham Band', 'Reuben Richard & Soul Train' and the 'Paul Garner Band', a singer/songwriter blues roots project. I've also collaborated with Harbans Srih (ex-drummer of JTQ) and the 'P-eye-eye' experimental project. And actually I have been playing with my old friend Davide Sanna, who is now a London-based singer/songwriter.I am a full-time musician in this crazy-amazing-rolling-expensive-jungle-exciting city of London....... and.......“You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one….”I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
