About Me

Gary Braith... is a self-educated guitarist, born in Orleans (France) in 1953 (first of March). He plays initially the blues, also rock'n'roll in various groups, which has become semi-professional in a variety orchestra. He Studied jazz with the Orleans Academy of jazz. Gary Braith plays modern jazz with strong influences coming from John Scofield, Pat Méthény, John Abercrombie, Bill Frisell, Marc Ribot, Nguyen Le. He integrates also into his compositions influences coming from traditionnal music of the world (fado from Portugal, arabe and persian music, voodoo rythm...). They give him an original style, where emotion colors and melody have a great place. His first album (« Favorite Songs » in 2004) contains twelve titles of modern jazz, three of which are personal compositions , and also a no-claims bonus dedicated to Jimmy Dawkins. He has just come out in 2007 with his second album, « Nis », which contains ten personal compositions.
