My Interests

The Future Sound of Exeter promotes innovative & exotic local music. We put on multi-faceted events rather than just gigs, where we feature local bands, DJs, projections and decor. Our events are often described as mini-festivals with a good vibe second-to-none!

We always pull out all the stops to make our events special ones rather than just gigs, cramming as many local acts onto the bill as we possibly can. For example, when we put on Ozric Tentacles we also engaged local avant-garde artists to wire up a real squid and generate sounds from it in the bar - so punters got even more tentacles for their money!

I'd like to meet:

Anyone committed to production and promotion of local music, in particular the innovative and the exotic...

Music:

Electronica, trance, techno, ambient, dub, world, roots, folk, drum'n'bass, fusion, progressive, psychedelic and jazz-rock - in essence anything innovative and exotic...

As well as all the acts listed on our 'Ten' CD opposite, over last decade we've put on An amazing range of acts including HAWKWIND, ASIAN DUB FOUNDATION, TALVIN SINGH, GONG, LTJ BUKEM, RONI SIZE, MAD PROFESSOR, BAKA BEYOND and many more - all supported by as many local acts as we can cram onto the bill!

Movies:

We have our own VJ kit and always use projections at our events.

Television:

The annual World Music Extravaganza we put on for Exeter Respect Festival has been previewed on both BBC and ITV.

Books:

You can read the history of the Future Sound of Exeter and St David's Ambience Society in the booklet for our 'Ten' double album, and on our main website at www.fsoe.org

Heroes:

Everyone who's collaborated with us and helped out at our events to make them so special.
