About Me

WARNING!! THIS SPACE IS MOVING WARNING!!
Folks, after several months of negotiations, MySpace has agreed to allow me the use of the Lane on Bass Space!! This is a big Woo-hoo for me, as now, my Space will perfectly match my web site -- laneonbass.com and myspace.com/laneonbass.
So... please go to my new Space and add me as a friend from there, OK? I'd hate to lose anyone due to the move.
Thanks, y'all!
I'm a bassist, vocalist, songwriter and producer. I've played everything from Classical to New Age/World Beat and everything in between: Rock from the 50s to today, Blues, R&B, even some Country, Jazz and Bluegrass. I am currently accepting recording dates and have a very few openings for local students. Check out my web site for a full bio, interviews, pictures, client list, links to articles I've written and much more.
My current project focuses on the music I love most: the Blues. Featuring Gary Jones on guitar and Aaron Bouslog on drums, Deeper Blues (visit our web site and "our space" ) is all about the Blues, even when it isn't. In other words, even though some of the tunes have a decidedly heavier feel than you might expect from a Blues band, it's still played with a Blue heart and a Blue mentality. Come along for the ride as we record our upcoming CD and make plans to visit other parts of the country.
You might also want to check out A Life with Spirit , a web site hosting my essays, poetry and lyrics (as well as its associated blog ), and the Diary of a Quitter , which follows my efforts to quit smoking.

I endorse - and use - Eden amplification, Spector, Renaissance and Washburn basses, and DR Strings. Read more on my web site.

My Interests

Yes, I do have a life! LOL Just not much of one, because I'm so dang busy. When not working on my music, my duties with Eden Electronics, or writing for various clients, I kick back with a book, mess up the kitchen, hang out with my cats, or spend a day outdoors.

I'd like to meet:

Blues and Blues-Rock fans of all ages in all parts of the US and Europe.

Music:

Just about anything, but my favorites are Blues, Rock, especially challenging stuff, and various ethnic styles.

Movies:

If it's good, I'll watch it. Everything but total Slasher flix.

Television:

Law & Order, The Simpsons, Family Guy, documentaries.

Books:

Stephen King (especially the Dark Tower series), Frank Herbert's Dune books, as well as those by his son, Lord of the Rings (which I first read back in the late 60's).

Heroes:

Musicians far too numerous to count...but I do have to mention one: Bill Clements, who continues to inspire thousands by refusing to let the loss of his right arm stop him from playing bass. And David Nordschow, the visonary behind Eden Electronics, makers of the finest bass amps on the planet. Then there's my Dad, a true, everyday hero in the grandest sense. It's been six years, and I still miss him every day.

With my main Eden rig -
WT1205 and D610XLT

Yeah, I've got a few rigs...

Soloing with my main bass -
a Spector NS6-P custom.

The Fretless Wonder - custom-built by
Rick Turner of Renaissance Guitars .

Live at the Durango Music Festival with
Colorado phenomenon Bruce Hayes.

Playing the San Remo (Italy) Blues Festival
with DC's own Linwood Taylor.
