VISIT BLIND PIG ON iLIKE TO HEAR MORE OF OUR MUSIC!
From our humble beginnings in the basement of an Ann Arbor, Michigan blues club in 1977, Blind Pig Records has grown into one of the premier blues labels in the world. A virtual who's who of blues and roots artists performed on the Blind Pig stage at one time or another - Otis Rush, Koko Taylor, Commander Cody, Asleep At The Wheel, Roosevelt Sykes, Robert Lockwood, Mighty Joe Young, Johnny Shines, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Walter Horton, Bonnie Raitt, Eddie Taylor, Jimmy Rogers, and Hound Dog Taylor, to name a few.
Their incredible performances and the enthusiasm of the audiences led to the notion of recording this memorable music and presenting it to fans beyond the confines of this legendary club. From the very beginning, our belief in the creative abilities of the artists and their need to expand the limits of their art form took precedence over a strict adherence to any narrowly defined musical idiom. As a result, our label's natural progression has been to release albums not only in Blues, but also in the fields of Roots Rock, Zydeco, Rhythm & Blues, and Soul Gospel. This philosophy has earned Blind Pig a reputation for excellence not only through releases by some of the all-time greats, but also through recordings of the new generation of artists who are bringing these uniquely American art forms into the 21st century.

Robin Rogers - Treat Me Right
Music has been Robin Rogers' consuming passion ever since her days as a teenage street singer. Possessing a deeply expressive and soulful voice and an infectious enthusiasm for the blues, Robin and her band have developed a devoted and growing following. Her Blind Pig debut, Treat Me Right, fulfills the promise of her previous two releases, revealing an accomplished artist of rare polish and originality.
"The combination of excellent material and Rogers' compelling voice is what makes this a winner." - AllMusic
Kenny Neal - Let Life Flow
Let Life Flow marks the return of multi-instrumentalist and modern swamp-blues master Kenny Neal, with an inspired set that draws musically from the sizzling sounds of his native Louisiana, while striking a deep, emotional resonance in response to the personal trials he has recently endured.
"Kenny Neal's latest effort is a resounding reaffirmation of his talents as a musician, songwriter and singer. While the album has its share of melancholy, Let Life Flow has enough uplifting moments and infectious grooves to keep the party going." - Living Blues

Webb Wilder & The Beatnecks - Born To Be Wilder
Born To Be Wilder (recorded live at WorkPlay in Birmingham, Alabama) captures the full flavor of Nashville-based roots rocker Wilder's live performances: booming baritone vocal delivery, blazing guitar licks, and a punchy rhythm section, overlaid with a healthy dose of his quirky humor. Wilder has been called "a kind of Tom Petty for the trailer set" (San Francisco Chronicle), though he describes his style thus: "We play both kinds of music, Rock AND Roll."
"On this scorching live CD, Wilder loads up on fan favorites like "Human Cannonball," "One Taste of the Bait," and "Poolside." Born to Be Wilder also serves as an excellent intro to Wilder's vast catalog, which he's been steadily working at for more than two decades now. His distinctive baritone and deadpan stage patter guide the way, while the Beatnecks rock with the economy of an old-time country band. Smokin' leads last just long enough, and the three guitarists burn through the songs without any pileups." - Cleveland Scene
Popa Chubby - Deliveries After Dark
The ever prolific Popa Chubby returns with a new CD of hard-hitting rock 'n' roll. The disc is balls-out Blues/Rock played with reckless abandon, no apologies, visceral and heavy, with a few surprises thrown in - such as the theme from "The Godfather" and the spacy and evocative "Woman In My Bed Dub," a reggae tune as thick with smoke as a Kingston club.
"The ambitious performances, the good-timing rock songs, the searing guitar solos, and the willingness to experiment all suggest youth and embrace freedom. With all this excitement coming across in a convincing, fist-pumping fashion, Deliveries After Dark is a very loud success."- AllMusic.com

Nappy Brown - Long Time Coming
Nappy Brown is one of the great voices in American music. He makes a triumphant return with an album that swings with the same soulful authority that he exhibited on his hits of a half-century ago.
"Nappy Brown is still in prime voice throughout this spirited set. In addition to a variety of blues (including an acoustic "Cherry Red"), blues ballads, and some vintage R&B, he is quite effective singing soul (which he predated) on "Give Me Your Life" and a gospel piece, "Take Care of Me." With the fiery playing of guitarist Sean Costello egging him on along with the drive of the other sidemen, Nappy Brown is heard throughout at the top of his game."- AllMusic.com

Magic Slim - The Essential Magic Slim
Featuring Slim’s trademark slash and burn guitar and booming vocals, this definitive, budget-priced collection includes some of the finest moments in his eighteen year relationship with Blind Pig.
"The Essential Magic Slim is one "best of" collection that lives up to its title and Blind Pig has done a stellar job picking out a balanced mix of album highlights and fan favorites, creating a rock solid collection of some of Slim's toughest, most sincere performances." - Supporting The Blues

Popa Chubby - Electric Chubbyland Vol. 1 & 2
Two stunning live sets from Popa Chubby, celebrating the most influential guitarist of the rock era.
"Chubby's double-volume set of Hendrix covers is by no means tribute-band fare. Electric Chubbyland is a tasty mix of the fresh and the familiar." - Cleveland Scene

Elvin Bishop - Booty Bumpin'
A rollicking new live set from blues icon Elvin Bishop, whose shows have been described by Rolling Stone as "a good time romp... raucous blues with high energy soloing, mixtures of careening slide and razor-edged bursts, all delivered with unflagging enthusiasm and wit."
"Booty Bumpin' gives the audience what it wants: a party, delivered by a raucous, confident and tight band. Bishop and his six piece outfit are in great form on this night, delivering danceable, hand-clapping, toe-tapping fare to an appreciative gathering." - Living Blues

Peter Karp - Shadows And Cracks
Shadows and Cracks is the Blind Pig debut of a truly original and unique voice in American roots music. Karp is a master songsmith with an art for spinning genuine emotions, humor, and candor into tunes that help the listener navigate the speed bumps, traffic lights, and side streets of the road of life.
"An underground genius... like Jackson Browne and John Prine, with a healthy dose of blues too... Karp's a soulful storyteller." - Blues Revue
Dave Hole - Rough Diamond
Dave Hole, the reigning master of the slide guitar, showcases his fret-melting style, with riffs infused with the spirit of Duane Allman, Johnny Winter, and Elmore James.
"Nothing interferes with Hole's searing guitar when he is in full flight." - Rolling Stone
Hamilton Loomis - Ain't Just Temporary
A masterful mix of blues, funk, and soul that forges ahead into new musical territories while maintaining a strong connection to the blues legends of the past. Features a killer duet with Bo Diddley.
"If blues, soul, and rock can be said to form a triangle, you'll find Hamilton Loomis right in the center of it." - Guitar Player
Harper - Day By Day
Harmonica wizard and rhythmic explorer Harper is a fiery artist who blurs the lines between rock, blues, soul and world music. His distinctive use of the didgeridoo, deeply soulful grooves, and memorable songs place his unique roots music style in a category of its own.
"Harper, who grew up in Australia, is a menacing vocalist, an effective harmonica player, and a songwriter whose pieces have simple but effective messages. His music is on the rockish side of the blues without a single 12-bar blues being on this disc. Harper features an excellent guitar-driven backup band that fits perfectly with his vocals and harmonica." - AllMusic.com

Tommy Castro - Painkiller
Teamed here with esteemed producer John Porter (Taj Mahal, Keb Mo, Santana, B.B. King, Elvis Costello, Buddy Guy), Tommy has crafted a killer collection of new tunes in his signature rock 'n' soul style.
"As good as it gets on the blues circuit these days." - Vintage Guitar

John Németh - Magic Touch
The buzz around John Németh is substantial, and his Blind Pig debut delivers the goods in spades. His emotive, smooth voice and stellar harp playing introduce a virtuoso of rare depth and power.
"One of the most exciting blues debuts of the past year." - Blues Revue
