Johnny "Shakes" Altyn music could NOT have done without FRED SCHRECK, JOHNNY "O" BELLON, FRANK CARILLO, and of course:_________________________ BOB STANDER......................... Johnny is just a gardener and an observer of ALL things. But while he was away from the Blues:He dabbled in writing movie music for Horror Movies. Such as: Sleepaway Camp II "Outta Control" Sleepaway Camp III "Sleepaway" Sleepaway Camp IV "Berserk" and other tunes. He was the lead guitarist for an outstanding band called, "Mrozinski" and played on the 1 hit single, "Give it up Kid." He played lead guitar for "Buva" on the song, "Day Dream." He started his music career with his band, "VD" Writing such memorable songs with lead singer Dave Doyle like, "Lenore the Whore," and Martian Nymphomaniac," amongst others. Over the years, he's worked as a studio musician, and two of his favorite experiences were playing with the "Shorty Jackson Band," in Brooklyn and in Harlem and with "Fred Schreck and The Billy Goats," in Nashville. Now, Johnny "Shakes" with the Blues and for a brief moment, played lead guitar for the band, BLIND BLACKIE which he co-founded with Bob Bishop. In that brief time, Blind Blackie was heard on Blues Radio from Nashville to England. What an honor it was. He doodle's in art. He's worked with legendary Warner Bros. animator Virgil Ross, creating Limited Editions for Warner Bros. Studios using Bugs Bunny and the Looney Tune gang. Also creating Limited Editions for Universal Studios, Graceland, Kellogg's and others. He's a professional writer, and co-founded the animation magazine, In-Toon!. He's a bonsai artist creating bonsai art for his company, "Old Wood Bonsai, inc. He's released a children's CD "Songs in the Key of Kids," with Johnny "O" Bellon. He is currently working with recording artist, Andi Starr. AND NOW HE'S BACK PLAYING THE BLUES. But he's just a gardener and an observer of all things! I JUST SHOWU UP AND DO WHAT I'M SUPPOSED TO DO.And at the end of the day - when all is said and done; - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - -- NEVER - EVER lose your "sense" of Humor.------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------------------------KEEP IT SIMPLE: Johnny Shakes does his guitar track in ONE take. NO OVERDUBS OR MULTI-TRACKS. He just plays the guitar...like it should be...
