About Me

I'm a music loving California girl geek. My camera is my constant companion when I go out and I love doing digital editing and art with my computer. I'm passionate about life and love spending time with my friends. My intellectual and musical tastes reflect the rich breadth of my life and experiences. I'm not a fake and have no patience for those who would rather pretend than face reality. Life is too short to waste banging your head against walls wishing instead of doing. I don't believe having a perfect bellybutton is a worthwhile life goal. I try to be healthy but my priority is giving and loving, not looking like a model. I'm probably way more open minded than a lot of people but I believe in the right time and place for things. Myspace is still a site that has kids on it. Part of the freedom we have as adults to live adult lives that are as open minded as we wish, is the responsibility to act responsibly around the kids.Born within sight of the Hollywood sign, I grew up with the music we loved. Michael Anthony of Van Halen and Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac both went to my high school. I took piano lessons for twelve years, wanted to be an astrophysicist when I grew up, took classes for high school nerds like me at Caltech and loved summer days on the beaches and evenings in the pool. I've been a lifeguard, a camp counselor, a teacher and a mom of three beautiful children.I'm a killer cook and love learning how to make new foods from all over the world. I have a BA in Psychology, a teaching credential from CSULA and just completed my master's in education from the University of Phoenix. I'm one of those politically active women that give George Bush the willies. I love reading and having intelligent interesting discussion. Currently I am substitute teaching and looking for a full time teaching job. Love and life is good and getting better all the time.

My Interests

Music: both playing and listening, photography, knowledge, computers, digital editing, cooking, travel, beaches, intelligent discussion, snuggling etc etcCURRENT MOON about the moon

I'd like to meet:

People who love JJ's Project Brainstorm music. People who think. Creative, openminded, interesting people who aren't into things just because it's "in" to say they are.

Movies:

It's so much fun to watch a movie with someone special.

Television:

I have one. It works really well for watching dvds. I suppose if someone cute enough wanted to watch it with me often enough, I'd bother to pay for cable so it would even work in here but there's not much "there" there. Too many people use it to avoid having real relationships. I love turning it on for a reason- to watch something good you Want to watch. I don't understand people who just leave it on loud all the time. So antisocial.Fun stuff: Classic Looney Tunes, especially the Road Runner and Bugs Bunny. Monty Python. Twilight Zone. Invader Zim.

Books:

I love books. I'm always reading something. Now that the internet exists, I obviously do a lot more of my reading online, but the internet is the world's biggest book and I'm a very fast Googler. Still, I will always love and read books. Some of the topics I like to read about include history, science, music, artists, creative women, world mythologies, Jung/Joseph Campbell/depth psychology/ literatures, philosophy, astronomy and science, art and architecture, design and photography, graphic design, some poetry.Fun stuff: Doonesbury, Calvin and Hobbes, Far Side, Happy Bunny, JTHM.

Heroes:

The most creative, talented, sexy, brilliant, fun, patient and giving person I have ever known. Nearly five very special years of love and music.

How to make 98 degrees seem good.
